If only I had the credit or savings to buy some lamd. I would. Although I hear Alaska isn't cheap.

No where is "cheap", not any longer.
What all depends is how do you wish to "live" ?
I went on in a storage shed for 4 years while we built by hand, and dug our own wells, and so on.
Alot of people are not willing to live this way.
So those people must have money to hire people to do their constructions.
Working the land, and living off the land is almost a lost art.

I admire your dedication. Storage shed with 5 people is not my idea of fun. I liked a place that was 960 Sq feet... But DH firmly shut that one down. Apparently when you're a big guy a tiny house does not sound fun. Even if it has a fenced in yard.

We Americans tend to put ourselves deeply into debt in order to live in bigger houses than we can can afford. We buy more crap to stuff the houses with too. Our house is just about 1200 sq feet, and I've got two big guys living comfortably here with me. I mean big. Chickielady can confirm one of them is not a bantam weight, LOL.OK so it's not a three bedroom... but if you count the garage it could be, LOL.

I hate looking for a place. Why is it so hard to find an AFFORDABLE 3 bdrm place that'll allow some backyard animals?

Western Washington - especially anywhere on the I-5 corridor is way expensive. Where are you looking to live and how far are you willing to commute to work?

I'm a petite person and we bred little petite people... But my husband draws the line at ducking through doorways. Haha.

Right now we are in Tacoma very near his work. But we are looking anywhere between Federal Way and Yelm. And we want to stay on this side of the narrows.

Adorable!!! I have not taken a picture of "Peanut" today but it is doing very well very chirpy and hopping around in the bator.

Keep the babies warm, now.
Temptation is to take them out of the warmth & handle them.
Congrates on the baboes, but leave them be in the warmth for a few days if at all possible.
I leave mine in for a week or more (turning the temp down a FEW degrees a day, for a week or more IF I can..it makes them all the more stronger.

I have got "Blue" in the brooder with a nice heat lamp and a stuffed Dino to cuddle. David wanted them to have something to cuddle. "Peanut" is still in the bator but it is doing good. think he/ her is a Maran do to the dark brown shell. it is very active and chirpy
