For fleas you could try some bowls/pans of water with a little dish soap they'll hop in and drown. There's some powder on the market that is supposed to kill them too, I don't remember what it's called, then there's DE as a possible solution.

I think I'm going to try Borax on the carpets, and vacuum up in the morning again....I have the heebie jeebies now !

I haven't had issues with fleas indoors for almost two decades so I'm not much help. I have peppermint planted around the back steps (since we only use the back) since it's supposed to deter many insects including fleas. I um may have dug up a bit to much mint this last spring, so it wasn't as good a crop this year (I love mint tea.)

I just checked him. He's pouting. He ate some of the scratch I gave him.

I twisted off Buster's spurs one time (he was 3 yo, seen in my avatar) and he acted so weird after that, as if he was humiliated, as if I had castrated him ! He pouted, and did not crow nor strut for several days ! Weird, cuz I did not think he could even SEE down there & how would he know ?
He recovered, though.
I tried the hot potatoe, and it did nothing but a mess...and it was HOT
I use a pliers & do it like this, and a vice grips work, too.
I also dosed with "bleed stop" powder, which did nothing...so don't waste your $ there, and I have never isolated afterwards...

The blood stop stuff I have works. I had a small jar of stuff I tried before that didn't. Flour worked better than that stuff. I know this blood stop works, I had to use it on myself one time. I think I'd almost rather bleed to death next time. It was like acid, it hurt so bad. Salt doesn't hurt that bad. It did stop the bleeding though. I think it constricts the capillaries and vessels and clots.

Last time I had a bleed issue (son cut himself & he was about 7 yo...) a Native American (Nez Pierce) said they use wasp paper, from a wasp nest, and they are pretty sterile, too...so next time I see any wasp paper, I save it.
I have a big wad in each first aide kit, and it works really good !
maybe not so good on a spur, though...probably fall off

yeah, you have to find one killed off in the winter.
I found one in Myrtle Creek (OR) a while back, hanging in the stable, that was as big around as a basketball !
I have hunks of it still !

Booch & steelie for my dinner ! Einstein is gone to CA again, so me, the cats & the fleas have the whole steelie to ourselves...I should smoke most of it, but its raining out & I am being lazy...we'll see how the weather is tomorrow, maybe I'll go get some alder or maple & smoke this fish...


This fish is almost 36" long !

They are not my favorite shrooms, flavour wise, I like Portabellos the best.

I second the Borax on any carpeted area, leave overnight at least and vacuum up. If you can, have the cats bathed - since just the soapy water will help to dissolve the eggs (I wouldn't do a flea dip with chemicals to any of my animals). Next (or first if no bath), good flea comb and comb, comb, comb until the fleas and the eggs are gone. Keep a cup of water with a squirt of dish soap in it to quickly put any live fleas in before they jump on you, the floor or back on the cat. I hope your cats tolerate this, but if they don't, work in shifts. I have done this with my dogs but haven't had to with my cats - they had been treated with Advantage (I think) but really don't go outside like the dogs do. Make sure you wash (or sprinkle Borax on) any bedding, including yours if they sleep on your bed. You may have to repeat all this until they are gone but it will work. Good luck!
