Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Hello everyone! The other day I dug up very large larvae from my potato bed. I was about to ask what they were here but a quick google search yielded "Curl Grubs" as the answer - never heard of them before but I suspect they are what have been eating my potatoes. They are ugly little things, the chickens loved them though! A second pullet started laying eggs - time to re-home some more of the adults I think! More shocking to me is the first 5 eggs from my young birds have all been in the nests. If anyone wants a broody barred Ameraucana(project bird obviously not APA) let me know :-D.
Chickens are very good at enacting revenge for us. I get mine after spiders and rodents

My actual egg count has dropped so low I beginning to think it is blue being to hard on them?

All my big girls are between 1.5 and 5.5 years old now. Between finishing molting, shortening days, and age, they aren't giving me much.

The silkie girls always lay well, even the older hens. Well when they aren't broody. So I always have at least small eggs for eating
