Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Who did you get your Silvers from? :drool. They are on my dream list... I need to get my Wheaties going first. But if I ever have more room, Silvers are top on my want list.

I just got 2yards of wood chips and shoveled them into the chicken run. I really like it so far, their feet are all clean and the run is dry. They were in a poop soup after all that rain.

Where did you get the wood chips?

You can find them free from tree companies but I didn't have time to correspond with them and wait until they were in the area so I bought some from a landscape supply a few miles up the road. There is about 3in of chips, seems to be keeping the water/mud issue at bay.

I thought I told you all about them already ?

I hate mud I have two pairs of one partial rubber leather and one rubber pair of boots
used them both in the slop created need to clip some wings so I can let them
run in the garden with just 4 foot field fence
My lightest colored Exchequer pullet goes straight up about 20 feet in a big Fir to sleep...even in this monsoon...I will have to clip her wings before an Owl or the weather kills her, if I could only catch her !

We have had our local tree cutter company drop off chips here before...call them & tell them where you are so if they are working in your area they can dump at your place.
They are wet chips however.and not suitable for inside the coop, but great for outside !
I have them in pathways in my garden, and on a hillside to keep weeds down, and am needing more..........I noticed they dumped 2 loads at my neighbors a few days ago...my turn is next !

Going to go paint now....too stormy to do anything else here and I am not going to any auctions today...maybe go to the show next week but not going to show..................my birds are muddy, Beils are molting...it is just too muddy.
