The most common reason for shell less eggs is if a pullet recently started laying within the last month, or a hen is about to molt or brood, or is just starting to lay again after molting or brooding.

she does not have a sour crop or impacted crop does she ?Well tonight I checked and she was in the nesting box so I put her back up on the roost. But her crop was pretty full. So I was happy about that.
