Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

We haven't got much yet. I laid down straw two weeks ago so no mud issues here now. I do need to put down more, though.

I walked out earlier and up to the gate of the silkie pens. The quail was laying down next to one of the silkie hens. Didnt even notice I was there until the silkie got up to rush over and beg for treats. Then it paced a few before climbing through the chainlink and watching me from the other side. I think it's realizing I wont hurt it.

We went to get monthly feed needed oyster really bad darn was paying like 7.50 for 50lbs 18.50 this month got trapped in the gully washer that went through quiet here now no rain but Wow as we got there coming home worse

So there is 11 hatched out of 24 eggs in the incubator they haven’t dried off yet looks like most of the other eggs are piped or zipping. Should I leave them alone till they are all done hatching and dry? The first one hatched last night about 8:00 the humidity is pretty high from all the hatching temp is pretty constant 99.9 to 100

So how many now... we are doing banking today dropped our votes well over a week ago drop box at city hall here 2 blocks away

Counted eggs left this time much easier so have 17 peeps so far. Only 4 hatched last night so I will leave them alone till probably tonight and see where they are. Should end up with at least 20 out of 24 that’s enough anyway. Who knows maybe they will all hatch, I only see 2 eggs that haven’t pipped.
Great job Guy!! My mentor says DO NOT TOUCH THAT INCUBATOR UNLESS ALL CHICS HAVE HATCHED They can go up to 3 days on the egg yolk they absorbed. It is totally up to you, I waited on mine 24hrs after this the first one hatched. Some people think that is cruel, but after waiting 21 days, give it until morning. The chic will be fine.
Is this a mixed batch, with a lot of Marans ??? TOM
