Dont you all know? Snow is acid. My silkies have assured me of this fact. Even though they have really heavy snowshoes.

The EEs and ameraucana will come out a bit if they feel it's worth it.

There was a little snow that blew in under the barn door yesterday it settled right in front of the first coop door, the chickens froze in place when I opened there door as like was said it was a pool of acid. I threw a few hand fulls of straw over it and all was well. It’s 12 degrees this morning wind is still blowing, blew all night it’s cold.

Your guess is probably better than mine. I’ve only been a chicken lady since the middle of summer. I thought I had figured it out then I started looking for another chicken to add to my little flock and found 2 other types of chickens that look like her. I guess it doesn’t matter... she is the the best chicky-doot -doot-da-doot-doot. My kid has got the darn sharky do song stuck in my head!

Egg color is mostly the rage these are some of mine, they are real nice birds as well.
