Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Miss my 4 still but getting eggcited about the new ones all of them are splash Bf and Son want to keep the frizzle seems she is pullet so is the easter egger blue girl ?

Cannot tell pullets till they lay but cockerel seem to hold themselves up taller with the silkie ?

Cockerels are heavier. Combs stand up a little bit around 8 weeks. On bearded if you look where the tiny wattles will be, there is be this itty bitty show of what's to come and a light hint of mulberry color. In my experience only males ever get any at all.

It's easier as they get older. Boys get streamers on their crests.

Most of mine are partridge so I learned to see the differences easier because you can color sex them around 8-12 weeks. Definite girly girls sex earliest by color. Yes I can tell boy from girl on partridge silkies at around 6 weeks and sometimes earlier. Ive only ever been wrong on which I thought were boys. Sometimes they are actually girls.

White I usually cant tell until 10 weeks. Sometimes they are obvious though.

Me guessing on easter egger chicks doesn't work well. Too many of both sexes feather in that reddish brown then totally change around 10-12 week. After that pullets in the standard color are easy. White EEs confuse me apparently. I thought it was a girl until recently. He doesn't act like the others.

I was using the same as other birds, boys tend to hold themselves up stand straighter.
I have downsized to one Rooster would like to stay there..
Also never had one in the banty coop ..
Do not see me breeding banty
