Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Just closed ours for night I do not have auto doors here ..
Cannot justify the cost or going out each night ..
But that is me do not judge as you will be also ...
Hubby bought it for me last year for our anniversary, otherwise I'd be out there opening and shutting a door (or more likely just leaving it open all the time like I used to), lol.

We both started showing symptom of covid on the January 7th. Went to Madigan and got tested. By the next wenesday I thought I might die from the coughing. I would pass out if I wasn't laying down on my stomach. Dry, unproductive cough. Long deep coughing session would get some of the thick stuff out of my lungs. My fever went as high as 103 but it was a roller coaster of temps for over a week at it rose and crashed. Three days I spent under every blanket I had at the worst of it. Hubby didn't have the horrible coughing because he isn't asthmatic, but he had horrible aches. From our experience with it, 5 days quarantine isn't enough to get through it. 17 days later was when hubby was able to functionally return to work.

Still had to feed and water birds. Had to set up the lawn chairs every 20 feet. The german shepherd didn't leave my side she was so worried. Unfortunately that is quite literal and she got stepped on several times.

I cant imagine what it would have been like if we weren't vaccinated. We'd been trying to get our second booster when we caught it. Places only wanted to give us the same vaccine and no one had the Pfizer. Wouldn't give us the Moderna even though the CDC said mixing was fine. We do not want that again. Got the booster finally from Pierce County Health Dept clinic after we'd recovered sufficiently and waited a few weeks from last real symptom. Lingering cough happens to me even with colds as well as my lungs getting easily stressed. It gets slowly better.

:hugs I’m so sorry that happened to you! But very glad you made it through.

That is awful! I had a dog like that when I was 10, newly diagnosed type 1 Diabetic. Licorice was about 1 year old when I was diagnosed, she slept with me at night and of my blood sugars went too low, she would wake me up and guide me to the kitchen to treat, or if I was very low, she would go the other way and take me to my parents' room to get help. She was never trained as a Diabetic Alert Dog (DAD), but she self-taught and was with me for 15 years.

Often the dog human bond defies training.
