Wow we do have small river next to the new coop. Seems this is underground of was could be problem later.

I had to wade to silkies but they are dry because I put the pens on the highest point. I'm building up some of the spots. They aren't as bad as they were before.

I bought walking onions from Amazon have done so great result.
Last bunch showed up brown and dead I put them in moist paper then a shallow pan .. Now I have 5 alive .. Had to buy a pot to put these in.
Break in the rain here just now ? anyone else ?

Yup our rain has completely stopped. Dried up enough that I had time to put some seeds in the garden. Back corner of the run (closest to water) is still marshy/puddly so I threw in a bag of dried leaves to help soak it up.

Yes! We’re having a nice break! It’s great to have a little light without the cold. Well it is March now.

I tallied up the 3 days of that rain event. 5.09 inches. Sun taunting us today for several hours. It's cloudy again and rain will start again.


I had walking onions before in pots. They died in a cold snap after lots of rain. I need to get new starts from Mom. Hers originally came from my Great Grandfather back in the 80s. She gets colder so I know it wasn't just the cold that got them. She keeps them in big pots.

I keep mine in pots huge ones. Actually have couple more ordered for this group

We went to Pacific Beach to razor clam this afternoon, drive through rainy spots inland, but it was dry at the beach in the late afternoon.
