Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Anyone have good suggestions for a chicken safe mouse trap? I let my girls rule the whole yard, so need one that won't injure or harm the girls. Mice have been digging around their run- coop. Not into the live, humane trap and release type. Sorry to offend anyone who might be.
Bait in enclosed bait boxes designed to only let rodents in. Or (provided you don't have chicks/very tiny bantams) I have safely used snap traps around the chickens, but I use bricks to wall them in and scrap wood weighed down with bricks to function as a "roof." That forms a chicken proof enclosure for the traps, with a couple gaps maybe 1-2" wide for the rats/mice to get in.

Hey Made a trip to Costco early beat the main Saturday traffic... We are both in and out shoppers go with lists so not allot to vary ..
Any news of Ukraine?

I use a Ratinator. It comes with it's own tub it fits in that you fill with water to take care of them.

Only problem I have is that my german shepherd wants to pull it apart to get to them so SHE can crunch them.

Chicks ship tomorrow!! Spent the morning working outside in the sunshine and lovely 40° weather cleaning up from projects and giving the girls some attention. Now to remove the pine shavings from the brooder (I want to give paper towels a try) and to get the heat lamp stabilized. Last year I clipped it to my plant stand but now that's in the garage so I'm having to rig something up. Can't wait for little floofster! :wee

I lost my little Blue EE out of the banty .. I still have 4 up there. She was young just failed to thrive.
I use heating pad with a shutoff you can disable
then bought a heat plate has screws on the corners to raise or lower .. Did get both off Amazon .. The plate is rent a coop label.

Hello fellow Washingtonians! Have not been on this thread or on BYC in awhile. Been terribly busy and going to get even busier as the days progress.

It is supposed to rain here for the next few days so maybe by the end of the week snow will be gone!

In the next few weeks I'll be starting some eggs to hatch. Super excited. Though I have to build another coop, luckily most of it is already up. My little Serama chick is three weeks old! Think it is a hen!

Here is some news from our neck of the woods...read!
