Good morning here in the rain. We just re-homed a small flock of Silver Laced Barnevelders to some very nice people. And their eggs in the incubator have started pipping! Now we just need to get those chicks hatched and sold

I'm not sure on the heat weaning much anymore as I prefer to let the broodies raise them

You are fortunate to have broodies. For us that don't, it's an intuitive guess at times, with a bit of help from our BYC friends.

Today's new feeder creation. Refilling the pullet feed everyday is tiresome. Was browsing BiMart, thought I would get a $10 feeder on legs. Found a better solution. Costs the same plus a little time and tools. This 3 gallon trashcan with lid and a 7 qt. oil change pan should lasts at least 2 weeks, if not more for the 5 little girls.

So true about the Vashon weather. I sold a flock of chickens in the rain in the morning and got a sunburn potting tomatoes in the afternoon. It's been a long cold spring though. Those tomatoes are starting the worst I've had in years.

Today is supposed to get into the 70's, I am planning pickleball, a run, yard work and if it gets real warm a sit out on the patio.

Sadly, we only got up to 60 here. At least the sun is trying to be out.
