Welcome to the state bunch we all a great group sorry had to rant.

lot's of honey help and do.
I'm so glad he is home. Anything I can do for you?

Got the red cabbage shredded and salted. I'll put it into the fermenter in a few hours after it's softened up and the juices are pulled out.

1561 grams cabbage (3/4 of the head)
34 grams salt (about 2.2%)

I'm warming up a short half gallon of milk to make some yogurt. While I'm at it I might even make applesauce today.

You are ambitious today! I'm going to try making pita pockets for the first time. It is supposed to be easy to do.
I have to do something when I wake up before 3AM. Pita pockets sound good.

Even after working the cabbage there wasn't much juice so I added half a liter of a 2% saltwater solution to the fermenter. It's in the pantry now, should be ready February 20.

Yogurt is resting in a cooler @112°F. I'll maintain that temperature for 8 hours or so, then it goes into the fridge.

Over on Self Sufficient, @Hinotori suggested I get back to this forum, esp for those of us in Washington. Battle Ground here. Looking for some friends.
I got 12 chicks from Wilco in Fall of 22. One turned into a nasty rooster, so we dispatched him. Two have passed away, the most recent one was in my bathtub for 2.5 days. So down to 9 now, who are slowly coming back into laying eggs again.
Waves Hi!!!

Waves Hi!!!

Welcome back

Glad you're all doing great now @pennyJo1960 .

It finally thawed enough for me to dig up some of my horseradish. I put the large root in a paper bag, then in a gallon ziplock bag to store it in the fridge. I'm going to chop the little roots up in the food processor this afternoon. Still lots of horseyweed left in the garden.

Repotted a sage plant this AM. And I got my taxes finished up and filed. Glad to get that done.
