LOL we definitely don't have a 7 eyed chicken. At least, I've never seen it. I certainly wouldn't be going back in the coop, if we did.

Well peeps we finally got home at 9:00. Yes it was a bit of long day. See we left home at 7:30 this am. Met Itsren at Coastal to hand off the eggs from TPT. Then on to that crazy place where we met. It was nice in the fact that it was a nice free place and they had pretty good food CHEAP. However DW wanted to go "look" around. It didn't take very dang long for me to decide I could not take any more. I had to turn and drive (walk) into on coming traffic because I knew that was the short way out.
Thank you Jessica and anybody else who helped organize. I had so much fun and really liked to meet with everybody.
We then headed back home but Yoda insisted that he wanted to look around at

If itsren tries to tell ya anything about some crazy shopping trip just blow it off. like when her and T Hi tried to frame me for steeling the waitresses phone.

Then since we had to go by Winco I decided to stop and do my shopping for the month.
Had a great day and got a couple things taken care of.

I hope the one who offered doesnt ferget the travel case for Yoda. I would really like to extend his life as long as I can.

I am so bummed I wasn't able to come to IKEA today- and I wanted to- not only to meet everyone, but because I NEED 3 more of these wall hooks/hangers that look like the hind-end of a labrador- the tail is the hook. I need to pick up another mattress cover for the guest room. If you have never seen them- IKEA has the best mattress protectors ever- the "old fashioned" kind that is flannel on the outside and rubber inside- like the old crib mattress covers and changing pads. Very comfortable, only $15, and yet repels anything. I know that because when our orange tabby was a kitten he peed on the bed. If not for IKEA, we'd have been buying a new mattress!

Thanks for the tip! I need a mattress protector for our king bed. All the kids' beds have them but ours isn't waterproof and I dn't like to take chances. I love the ones I'vegotten from Walmart; the waterproof part is made from PolyUrethane Laminate, or PUL, which is what all my kids' super soft cloth diaper covers were made from. I will look into the IKEA ones though, if they're comfy and cheap!

Good Morning everyone! (another successful nite for this old codger, I woke up alive!)
After reading everybody's posts about the meet up at Ikea I wish I would have went also. Sounds like you all had a great time.

As I set here this morning thinking about yesterday. I realized a couple of things.
First I am not very good at introductions and I may have overlooked introducing DW Diane to some of you. She was wearing the light pink "WA peeps n quackers" BYC shirt. She sat over near Kim. Diane has had a stroke and has some communication issues especially with people she doesn't know. She does really enjoy going to these things and just watching / listening. Normally if somebody talks to her she will try to converse but she won't initiate conversation.
Second was when realized that I didn't try to make arrangements to take mikeb along. I am not going to make excuses why. I would just like to explain. See I am not use to having any BYCer's who live close and could carpool with us. So I need to see if DW could comfortably ride in the back seat of the car. See I could no way expect anybody to ride in the back seat with Quincy. While he is a good furry family member. I do not expect others to have to tolerate him. He loves attention and would have much rather been setting there at the table than waiting in the car.

Although I must admit that when we go on road trips like yesterday they tend to make for some long days. Of course Had I remembered to take mike our trip would have been a couple hours shorter as I would not have gone to Winco for grub.

Mike I apologize for not thinking to ask you to ride up with us. I will try to remember in the future and PLEASE feel free to remind me.

Kim.... how did the ricer work out for juicing? I'm super curious. Found out on the way home that Laughing Feather (Kathy) used to make pom. jelly.

And to top off my day, when I got home my DH had made progress on the coop remodel. He converted the existing door from bottom-hinged to side-hinged. He's such a great guy! Almost every day he does some part of the project for expanding the coop. I'm guessing it's going to be finished way ahead of schedule.... Yippee!!!

Just a side note to anyone just getting started -- Make your coop and run as big as you can the first time around. Remodeling is so much harder and ends up being more expensive in the long run!

OK... time to make a pot of coffee. I keep lifting my coffee cup only to find it's empty! lol

While I am not overly fond of children and have difficulty interacting with them. I will also ssay that all of the little people there yesterday were very good. Setting in that situation for 2+ hours is a lot to ask and they all dealt with it very well. Kudos to you parents.
