Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Nope I haven't. Is if from a nettle plant. I am severely sensitive to those, more so than most people. Don't know if I would want to risk a reaction to it.
Hey Turtle- FYI- ingesting nettle is a way different thing that being stung by it. I hate nettle stings! Nettle is a natural anti-histamine. Try googling "nettle leaf anti-histamine" if interested. I use it because it doesn't make ya sleepy. (I did lots of studying on histamine since ALTE's from pertussis vaccine reactions cause lasting histamine dysregulation).

Hubby is making me an incubator today out of an old ice chest. He's got it all put together, but the lightbulb is too hot- we thought it was a 25 watt, but not sure now. Anyone know where to get a cheap thermometer with probe? So far the only thing we've bought is the thermostat :)

wOW, WHO says you can't teach an old dog new trick/s?
I went to make a batch of cookies (yep, like to bake too) and my brown sugar was a chunk. While debating going to the store, I remember a friend of mine sent me an email a year or so ago about putting the brown sugar in the micro-wave for about 30 secs. I tried it (had to do two 30 secs episodes) It softened up and the chunks broke into grains of sugar very easily. Ha, learned something new. A good day.

Just thought I'd share.

works even better if you toss a slice of apple in with it!

Well we're having fun watching the Superbowl. The kids all made signs rooting for different teams and we had Mjaddra for lunch and GF chips/bean dip for dinner. Then we loaded the kids up with candy

They don't get it very often so it's a big treat today, they're excited! Then I realized there was a whole lot of red dye in the red vines William ate and that's why he was outta control upset. So I'm sitting with just William in my dark bedroom watching Sprout while he calms down. It's the little things. I love toddler snuggles!

Red dye is the one additive that I am thoroughly convinced that it will set our kids off into crazy beings. I'm not sure what it is about red dye. I wish they'd stop using it. It is much too common.

For those of you with food allergies, I thought I'd share this website that was sent to me by my WebMD Health Coach: http://www.maycontainyum.com

Boeing changed their health plans this year and now we are required to complete health surveys each year or we have to pay a much higher monthly premium. At first, I was annoyed that the company was "getting in our business", IYKWIM. But, now that I am getting monthly health coach calls, I'm beginning to appreciate it because he is helping me begin to get a grasp on the food allergies.
