Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Clumber, Let me know when you get an incubator and we can work out the details. If you are going to be getting one soon(like in next few weeks) I can start giving the extra light in the coop to get them laying more consistently again(I have it off right now). Let me know, I like enabling chicken math.

So I walked by my kitchen window a few minutes ago and see all 7 of my adult birds, the 3 teens and 2 chicks all foraging together, and the dog watching over all of them. Yay, I have a cohesive flock.

I just ordered eggs from Smith Brothers. We already get a delivery from them, but haha I suck. I want to give the neighbors eggs for Christmas and we're not getting enough eggs from our hens to feed us and get gifts, so I bought us some eggs for tomorrow

I should be able to give away 3 dozen eggs by Christmas though, we're getting 6-7 eggs a day lately, since the little girls started!!

Oh yeah, they coop up around 4:30. I have a lot of yard lights that light up the back yard pretty well(7 to be exact, lights about 10,000sf of the back yard). Momma took the babies to the tractor about 4ish, right after I went to the coop to collect eggs(I didn't get up til 3, late night at work and sick

Quote: mine are in bed too-- OR is further south and so the sun probably sets later.

On the shortest day of the year, the sun will set about 5 minutes later than Seattle, so not that much different. In summer you get about that much more daylight than us. I have a lot of yard lights that keep half of the backyard light up. See my reply to Jess
