Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

What, has everyone gone off to take a nap?

Well, himself butchered a goat yesterday, so after it rest a couple of days, I shall be hacking him up and wrapping him and filling the freezer. Nothing like a lovely roasted goat leg in the spring!

Does anyone in the Oly area have any leghorn eggs they'd like to trade? I'm wanting some white egg layers. I have a Barnevelder Roo and hens (so purebred eggs) and the other hens are Cornish, EE's (gold laced and blues) and some BLRRW crosses which would all be covered by the Barnevelder (dark brown eggs). P.B. me if interested.

OK, since you all are entirely too forgiving and super nice, and if I have a unanimous vote to stay, I will stay

Eventhough I know I am less than deserving of your friendships.

TacomaFarms and I are getting together this Saturday at the (tentatively) Goofy Goose around 2:30pm ish. Sweetlilbaby, did you still want to come? I can give you a ride. I will be bringing my middle two boys (3 & 5) or possibly my entire family is DH is up for it (he loves Goofy Goose, so if he doesn't come, I know I will be bringing home lunch!). Any other South-Siders are more than welcome!
What's the Goofy Goose? Sit down restaurant? I might be interested if it's not expensive.

What's up with all this drama in the WA CHICKEN forum? Now - congratulate people on their coops, answer some chicken health issues, and let's talk about CHICKENS!

Make me hungry! I love goat.

The 2 I bring home will also be given to Lucy to see if she'll take them since I'm expecting some losses. We just had an eagle attack on Wednesday!
Scary isn't it? When we came home on Saturday, there was a hawk, just sitting on the tractor, deciding which one he was having for lunch. This was the second time he was there. I'm glad the chickens are too big (I hope) for him to take.

Oh and I never got to say

to all the new people.

I don't get to be on the actual computer much when DH is home on the weekends and it's a pain in the rear to post on the phone.

This forum isn't just for chickens. There's plenty of other places on BYC for JUST chicken talk. We talk about everything and that's what makes this an awesome place to be.
Quote: Terrifying! It didn't see me, flew OVER my head (maybe 4' above me) and landed 8-10' away from me ON my flock of chickens. Lovely.

Oh I want to buy a whole goat this year and a whole pig, and another 1/4 cow by fall. We LOVE meat. Definitely carnivores here.
