Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Thanks I never done this before so it will be a learning experience for my daughter and myself. I read you should run it at least a full 24 hrs before you set the eggs. Does that sound about right?
Yep and in case you didn't see my other post calibrate your thermometer and hygrometer. There is a ton of info in the learning forums here on BYC. That was my BIG mistake.

Robj, our daughters sound so much alike! Little nature lovers! In the summer we get quite a few wayward frogs in the house & the girls try to follow their sounds so they can catch & release them. Last summer a chicken caught a garter snake & the other chickens were chasing her, with my older daughter running after them yelling 'No!' 'Drop it!' lol
That's funny. They do sound a lot a like. We had a family reunion when DD Kayla was 5 she was carrying around two garter snakes forever it seemed like every time she passed by she was holding a snake. The summer before last they had the reunion in Oklahoma so we had to give the girls the if you see a snake Run Don't pick it up speech.

You still need to check it

I have a puzzle for you all.
Yesterday when I collected the eggs I had very nice cream coloured egg, but couldn't tell whether it was from a RIR or an Orp.
Today I collected the eggs and I got a WHITE egg. Since I also got the 2 Orp eggs it had to come from a RIR or I have a white egg layer lurking about.
Anybody have any clues?

Could be restarting and went through without getting tint, since all brown eggs are white shells with tint applied on them.

Finally saw Breaking Dawn 2 tonight. It was ok, glad I don't read the books and had to listen to DW say"it doesn't happen that way" through the whole movie.

Off to bed I go, gotta get up before sunrise to observe the chickens in the new coop as they wake
