Hello you all. I am in Western Washington (Covington area). Cool to see there is a thread just for people in Washington. Was looking to see if anyone had a black australorp rooster they were willing to part with. I could trade you for my buff orpington rooster, he is a great rooster to the hens, but mean to my kids. I have heard from many people that Black Australop roosters are the only ones to get with kids. Thanks

Does anyone know of any show quality silkie, polish or chantecler breeders in western washington? I went to the feather fancier show this weekend and i only saw silkie roos for sale and no for sale representatives of the other 2 breeds. I have a classified ad in the buy/sell/trade section. Thank you!

Have you tried craigslist? I've never shown so I don't know what the Q's/DQ's are... Are you looking for chicks, started birds, eggs?

Did anyone else sit with a power outage all day!!? Annoying! No wifi, no phone and most of all no HEAT! Mostly so annoying because I am laying in my bed recovering from surgery and I've had nothing to do all day!!

Sitting around in bed all day recovering from surgery can make a gal turn into a big BYC busybody! I'm just spending time answering posts that never get replies and hopefully being helpful!
Anywho, I'm here to ask y'all a question. It's about borrowing an incubator. I have a friend that has one I can borrow before I go and spend money on one. Is it okay, safe, sanitary to borrow someones incubator or is that a no no? I think I know what one to buy...but don't know if I want to go there yet. Thoughts?

I think if you sanitized it first borrowing an incubator would be fine. I hope you have a speedy recovery.

X2... @Bridebeliever what incubator are you thinking about getting? I have the Brinsea Eco 20. It makes it so simple. P.S. I really wanted a broody that's why I got a Silkie. We'll see this coming year if she/they go broody.

I was looking at the Brinsea incubators but I think I have settled on the Hovabator 1588 with egg turner. I want it to be as "plug and play" as possible!
