Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I think I have said I don't want a rooster or hatching or any of that. Do you think my bards at some point will become broody?
does this happen with age? a certain time of year?

I've never had one become broody. Hatcheries have bred against it.

Here's another piece of weirdness with my Araucana mutt. One day blue egg all the way through, another day blue egg with white inside!

And yes, for sure she's my only blue layer.

Did you peel off the inner membrane? sometimes they are thicker or dryer and look more white. Only way to see true color through is to peel that off.

Oh man, I'm so dumb...I just went and peeled of the membrane, and sure enough, solid blue...DUH!

Sorry, that is a big bummer! I would be so sad! What's getting them?
first went to the our shepard being locked in the pumphouse where I
have them she picked it up putting a whole in the abdomen I do not
believe she wanted to hurt it though lost one more a day or so later not sure
why 2 more went the next day I have them
in a wading pool sitting on a pallet now and 3 of them jumped out
one seemed to hurt a leg the other two seem to be ok
we drilled holes on the upper lip of the pool running chicken
wire over the top now. I may move all of them back into the tubs
I was using as they get older less room but it is safer.

Nah, not dumb. We all just keep learning. Mom thought it was part of the shell as well until I reminded her that it sticks to boiled eggs sometimes after you remove the shell.
