Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I don't even candle more than once when the silkies are sitting eggs. Halfway through I check for duds.

There is nothing worse than the smell of rotten eggs. Can't wash a bird enough to get it off either.

Anyone else having fly issues this year? It's so bad I can't even open the door without dozens flying in.

I'm afraid of spiders but even I gave in and now the house spiders have residence inside by the back door.

There's less flies out the chicken coops

They are bad here but mostly in the coop area I am with you
on the spider issue we had one of those wolf spiders in our screen room
couldn't get him killed fast enough

Every spot with a roof here has flies swarming under it.

I cant handle wolf spiders at all. There is a broom in their future. Or a spray of Kaboom cleaner. That stuff kills both spiders and wasps instantly

These are the ones I can manage to deal with. They stay out of the way.

I was much more concerned about listening to the racket the baby makes when I put him down! We have weight gain issues and a ridiculous feeding schedule so he is a little attached for the moment , lol.
I ended up trading the 2 big guys to Gena for an EE cockrel to get rid of some of the barring in my flock. The 2 little guys will be dealt with when they get bigger ;)

Put the baby down, and then take care of business.

Pretend you are a pioneer woman, with up to 12 kids.
It happend.
Nothing stopped great grandma from grabbing the bird & having chicken & dumplins ready when the men folk came home from building a cabin.
The hardest part was when it rained 24/7 (as it does here) and the pioneers were stuck IN their Conastoga wagons.........unable to build a fire for hot vittles..............they had to exist eating the old biscuits & chicken gravy that was made the day before.
