I just can't see a pyr momma jumping a fence & meeting up with a Aussie............or a Springer..................but where else came the freckles from ?
Wish I could afford a bloodtest...but it cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Just the same, I treat him as a Shepard mix & avoid Baytril & other stuff that messes with Shepard dogs.

Yesterday.I decided to get up & go clean the poop trays in the old coop......so out I go, got my bucket & cat pan spoon, and as I walked out I saw HUGE black wings flipping, under the pen netting......the birds in that pen were all in the coop except the big Willapa Giant Cock, who was chasing this giant black thing around inside the pen................

I dropped my bucket & ran around back....it was a huge, beautiful Raven !
HUGE!
Ever see one up close ?
This is the size of a Canadian Goose, with a broader wingspread !

It was clearly freaking, dagger beak open...flying up into the net & down again...it had obviously popped through a hole, then could not get out.....my Big Willapa Giant chased the Raven back & forth !
Wish I had the camera...anyways I finally got the cock bird in his coop, closed the door, opened all the gates & chased the raven horizontally...out the gate.
The net there is about 5 feet off the ground, so you can see how this bird would be flying low & UP & then hit the net & fall back down (and the Willapa Giant would run over to attack it !)
A profound experience.....and what a gorgeous giant black bird !
Good thing this never happens to @blueducklings
my friend who is terrified of big black birds.
The ravens in Kodiak are almost as big as eagles.

Well I have to say at least I had eggs after the weekend trip to see my parents. Looks like several girls have started laying again finally.

Well dinner is done back to mess up again

I loved the video and was right on point in my view
but started in dogs in the mid 70's had 2 wonderful mentors that kept me on the
straight and narrow... the trainers today mostly are totally inept in my view

I toss out old eggs in a specific location for the ravens. They chase off hawks
They are solitary beings...and they can carry off young chickens as well as baby ducks, geese & chicks..................................
They do scare away crows, hell yeah !

They are huge, and gorgeous.
This one has been hanging around here every winter that I can recall.

Usually he flies down in the driveway a ways away...and feeds...................but not this time.
I guess I need to make a specific feeding place for him...
