Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

This is Speckles. All her pictures will have her head turned to that side so she can see me. She's blind in the right eye where she was pecked a couple years ago.

Both dogs chased off the buck that was coming for me one fall. Athena thinks it's her sworn duty to make sure no deer or elk stay on the front of the property. Once the herds are away from that area she comes back. No amount of yelling on my part will convince her they aren't a threat. She's also my rat and starling exterminator.

On the trip back from my parent's house this last weekend we stopped in Ellensburg for a short break. I was taking dogs out while hubby was inside. This suspicious looking guy was wandering through the parking lot and saw me over a few vehicles and started coming towards me with the old panhandling speil "I ran out of gas, can you spare some money". I don't carry cash and told him that. He kept coming towards me until he came around a vehicle and saw Athena. Then he took a step back and left. She was being a good girl.

But then we'd got her as a puppy after then break-in because people see german shepherd and freak out. Hubby always wanted one because he likes their looks.

Neither dog walks super well on a leash. They forget how it works since they only wear one a couple times a year. We'll be walking and they will see something and try to walk over and check it out.

If I tell them to come they will follow me around, but they usually do that anyway. So do the cats and sometimes half the large hens depending on what I'm doing.
I remember....they take very good care of you !

Friends in the state used to call us on the coast Mossbacks...............

I just had to (today) scrub both front & side porch steps with bleach solution & a brush to grind off the slippery slime.....................even on treated wood the slime builds up, even over the top of those sandy strips you put on steps for traction...algae is overtaking us all !
