Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I had to butcher half the barred rocks I got one year. I tried everything to modify their behavior first, but it only worked on 3 of the 6. They were hunting down and flat out attacking EEs and silkies as a group.

see I have the 5 original birds hatchery br but flat mean to many of the birds not sure I want to hold out till the lavender ameracauna start to lay

a very nice man and wife that buy eggs from me are taking the barred they know the birds how old they are they only want the 5 woooohoooooo

One of the issues, had to get this out of the ground and out of the field before the ground got soft. Granite weighs 168 lbs per cubic foot. This weighs about 850 pounds.

There are probably more out there. That's been a thorn in my mowing for years. Usually the rocks we remove are the football size or so. There have been a couple bigger. Hubby split the last big one with a sledge hammer and we took it out in pieces. Mom gave me a big, heavy rock removal tool that was grandpa's. That makes it much, much easier. Basically it's an 8 foot steel pole with a point on one end and wedge on the other. Stick point in the ground at edge of rock and just wedge it up. No digging. We just flipped that big rock out and onto the pallet.

We have one also but have not found a need for it here although we used it on a stump when I wanted it out, where the chickens now roam
what type a food do you buy where you get yours please

Chicken food? We usually get food at Coastal Farm and Ranch. Hubby works about 5 minutes from there now.

Babies and juveniles get Flockraiser. Adults get Egg Producer. The silkies actually prefer the Payback all flock pellets since they are smaller. It's all high enough protein that the blue layers don't start ripping each other's feathers out to eat. Payback 5 grain scratch is the best scratch.
