I agree, genetics is a nightmare. I had to learn it for humans and I HATED it....for animals it’s 10x worse but for some reason I love it! It just takes me a LONG time to catch on and learn

Silkie hens are usually about 2 pounds. It's concidered a bantam breed

So can you keep them with a flock of normal sized hens? Like if I wanted to get 4, would they be ok in my flock of 27 standards?

No. Silkies only do well with other docile breeds. They can't see or fly to get away. They would end up bullied or killed. Silkies have a vaulted skull making the brain more vulnerable to a peck. Chickens peck
