Welcome to the new folks have not been on last few days lost one of our kitties 5 years old kinda through us for a good one washer died had to pickup a new one microwave will have to wait now

Welcome everyone new more and more all the time. Sorry about your kitty Penny I have been thinking of getting a couple. Got 38 eggs today that was a nice jump, all the cream Legbar and malines are laying now got 11 from the Marans things are picking up. There was just a little snow left by the barn this morning the chickens seemed to think it was a novelty now so they were scarfing it up like food, dingy birds.

We love them no doubt but he is at rest joined others crossing before him the other 4 are having a much harder time of it and two dogs inside do not quite get it

Well my Marans rooster did it again he is going after the waterer then when I set it down he turns on me. I was ready for him though he didn’t think I was watching, I had my stick and started tapping the crap out of the back of his head and put him in the corner then gave him a few more for good measure. The only thing that is different is that there are 4 pullets in there that are finally at the point of lay have been gettin 1 or 2 eggs from them. There are also the original five hens his age. I wonder if it’s because of the pullets they have been in there since they were chicks had them in a dog crate in there and let them out when they were big enough to fend for themselves that was months ago.

Mine is still looking to me for food I think, he is still struggling to crow

What a late bloomer the other one I have is just 5 months and he has perfected his crow in the last couple of days it hurts my ears. He has several to learn from though. May Legbar rooster I can just push out of the way he wouldn’t challenge me for nothing.

Nibbles finally used the nesting box!!!!! I was soooo excited!!!! so far she is laying 4 eggs a week. I think that is pretty good. I dont actually know how many her breed is supposed to lay. Never looked it up. She is an Orpington/Wynadotte mix.

When I had orpington and Wyandot they both layed around 5/week so yours laying that many this time of year is good.
