I am having more a day now up to 9 today girls all growing fast get to put a few under silky tomorrow try again

Yeah I wasn't expecting any eggs until spring! So going put and finding them is really really exciting.

Hawk got my sweet black silkie rooster. He put up a big fight. His large fowl hens all escaped. Took me some time to find them all. 4 were in the coop hiding. Another came running when I called. Had to search out the other 2. After I pet them, they felt safe enough to run for the coop.

That’s to bad I have been lucky with hawks don’t know if it’s because so many quail around here or what, maybe the quail are easer targets. My rooster keeps all the girls close to the barn to.
