Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

How’d everyone fair with the heat today? My 3-month-old pullets did okay (lots of panting but seem cooler now that the sun is going down). I’m nervous for the next couple days. I’ve been employing the recommendations posted here, but they still look so miserable.
Mine did ok I think. Panting for sure, but no wing holding out, which is good. Helps that the run naturally starts shading over around 2 pm on. The electrolyte mix seemed to help and I've been keeping several gallon jugs of water in the garage where it's coolest so they're getting cool but not iced water in their foot baths to help cool down.

They were pecking around the run by 5 pm so they seemed pretty comfortable even though it was still horribly hot to me.

Hey everyone!
Hope you all are staying cool today.

I have to go to work at 4pm and since the store already gets really hot during a 80-90F day, I'm going to be melting due to the fact that we're getting 100+ degrees today. We close at 8pm today so I won't be there that long.

Our hens are starting to irritate me. I had to divide up the new 12 duck eggs between our 2 broody hens since they kept trying to fight in the nesting box. Now that the eggs have been divided, they're fine now. I still keep having to kick one out though since she won't leave long enough to get fresh water to stay cool.

Birds are great at cooling themselves. We give our thoughts to them that they do not show appreciation or
even we did anything .. They will not say thank you :wee

I’m going out with ice for the water pans that I put out pretty regularly but not sure what else I can do. They have a lot of shade. I put a couple cubes on the ground and saw one of my chickens cleverly stand on one for a bit. I too am afraid for tomorrow the predicted temperature just keeps going up, and now the forecast for Tuesday is also mid nineties here.
