Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Put the chicks out in the new coop last night (they were packed shoulder to shoulder in the garage). Had to stuff them in the coop last night, today, they don’t want to leave! Finally got them coaxed outside around 3pm by bringing out the frozen dog water bowl and a bag of frozen peas. I did add water so they’d drink something too. I did finally figure out a way to put a water bucket (horizontal nipples) in the coop, but they have yet to find the food! Will take out their smaller feeder this evening.

Chickens did not like it today but made it through. Glad today was the worst for temps! Lots of panting but watering down their area and giving ice water seemed to help. View attachment 2739347
Yeah, my ducks weren't happy either. I gave them cold water and a cold pool to play in several times, but they were still panting most of the day.
