Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

anyone want to visit the local evil walmart? I want to see if they will price match for canning jars.....

The place that has the super low price is out in all of western wa :(

I don't think I can next week, DH's parents are visiting from Monday-Monday, but the following week I could probably take you (week of Oct 30), if you don't mind going to Hobby Lobby with me :) And is there anywhere up there (MillCreek/Lynnwood) to get chicken feed? .  It would be T-TH or F.  between 9:30 and 2.  I don't *think* I have anything scheduled on those days yet.

That might be longer than you want to wait though.

If I can not get there sooner your on! :)

Wow, the new thread is filling fast! Good to be here. Hope everyone's well.

Hey all! Just got home from John's flag football game, fed the kids lunch, William down for a nap, and now it's time to snuggle down in the warm house for a movie. The kids wanted to watch Star Wars.

I think I have some gals threatening to go broody on me! I'm fine with ONE broody, not 3!! My Black Australorp, one of the Buff Orps, and my BCM are all in the nest boxes today...but they all laid eggs too. So maybe they are just snuggling there because it's cold?

I kinda hope someone goes broody soon though, I'd love some fall chicks that will start laying in the spring! IMO, it's always better to have too many eggs, than not enough eggs.

So...just for reference, is anyone close enough to me who might have fertile eggs to give/trade me? I'd happily trade a dozen eating eggs for a dozen likely fertile eggs, if someone does indeed prove to be broody. If so, just comment here and I'll jot ya down for future reference!

Can I have "the pick of the litter" resulting from the eggs?

Oh yes! I'd only really like to keep one or two more pullets and don't really care which. What kind of hatching eggs do you have? Oh...and I don't know that they're broody too. I just went out there and nobody was in there. Must have just been snuggling earlier

Cute! It was just weird that Lucy was growling at me while she was snuggling in the nest.

My Bo's will sit for up to 4 hrs after laying an egg and growl and peck. Until they are in there for a couple of days and nights, I would say they are just enjoying the break from life. HAHA

Oh that's good to know! The funny thing is, she was still super friendly and let me pet her and reach under her to search for eggs, no pecking, just funny growly noises. It's adorable! I do hope somebody goes broody sometime this fall/winter. That would be fun!

Mine usually only peck at first, when they figure out I am not threated by it I can pet them . The close their eyes and everything, too cute. I hope one goes broody in the spring. I have a Splash Orp cockerel over them and curious to see outcome of the chicks from BO's, BR's and Production RIR's.

I have a dozen SSH eggs right this minute from the same breeding pen as the ones CL has in her incubator; they've been running about 80% hatching rate. What I don't have is any way to get them to you.

I will always say yes to anyone who wants to hatch SSHs and will take back surplus pullets.
