I think I was here for the last few days. I have been specializing in talking to myself. I am now the Mom-Mom to a baby that has discovered that she can mess with the big dogs head. So now I have to supervise the toddlers. That big dog may be 12 years old, but he is still knows that he is the baby dog. Those nasty little dogs just love to mess with his mind.

Just gotta tell you JB, You have the best conversations with yourself.

I feel like I'm right there with you.

Russ- Now we both need to take our meds and lie down.

myself

BTW- I love all the new pixs of your big dog.

Thank you about the Big Dog. He is a rather special kind of soul. It has been an interesting 12 years with him so far. He will turn 12 on February 9th. For being as large of a dog as he is, he is in remarkably good health still.

okay I have caused enough chaos and mayhem tonight on the rest of BYC. I will be back to talk to myself some more later today.

Do you know a lady in Washington that raises black jersey giants. Her last name may be Jennings. I was told she has pretty good birds.

Lives in the Seattle area. Look forward to your suggestions. bob

Another note about Prednisone, prolonged high doses also cause a joint disease that will continue even when the pred is stopped. DH has had both knees replaced and now needs a shoulder replaced, the other one will be after that. I suppose the hips will be next. It causes the miniscus to disolve so your joints are rubbing bone on bone.

I usually get caught up and post in the AM. I am the first one up and have my coffee at the computer. I love reading everything even when you are talking to yourselves at night. Makes no difference in the morning except my posts usually are commenting after the fact.

I was on prednisone for 6 out of 9 months during pregnancy. Pleurosy "sp?" and my heart enlarged with 2cm+ of fluid surrounding it... Every time the Dr. would wean me off prednisone, the pleurosy would come back even worse than it started the first time.
I didn't know prednisone causes joints to deteriorate, thats just wonderful, as I already have degenerative joint disease...

Along with mild RA... The sad part is... I'm not even 30 yet.

So this on top of the most recent medical scare... Life sucks, and is wonderful at the same time. Does that make any sense? lol

Ive been here, posted once yesterday I think... But have been busy working around the house. Though I really want to be outside working on the coop and property. This rain has got to stop. Ive been mainly dealing with my monster of a child, as her moods change more than mine do...

It does not cause joints to deteriorate that I have ever heard, RD does (Rhuematoid Disease) and the prednisone is used to suppress the immunal system to stop the joint deterioration.
And there are other drugs used for RA too, so that is good.
I had a Friend that got congestive heart disease and she had to live on high doses of Pred, do not know why...but she died (from CHD)and was dead several minutes then they brought her back and she had to stay on pred..she gained so much weight, moon faced like a Orangutang !
Buffalo humped, slept all day, up all night, ate constantly..it was not a good life for her.
I do not think her joints ever went bad.
She did get very fat though, and since she did not go out but slept so much, she just could not handle her own weight, hard for her to walk.
So that is so bad for her already bad heart..six of one or a half dozen of the other ?

Are you sure it causes connective tissue and joint disease ?
I was only on it for a week or so..twice.
I never knew it causes joint deterioration even after you stop taking it.
