Aracauna won that one. Continental went to a Faverolle roo from Oregon. One of the best & largest examples of the breed I've ever seen.

Oh my goodness! That roo was HUGE! For some reason I was thinking that Faverolle's were a smaller breed. Boy was I shocked when I saw the size of them. lol

I have alot to learn.

They SHOULD be big boys, it's just that size has been lost in a lot of lines. He was really nice, I just wish I could see more mahogany in his saddle feathers, and his foot feathering was a little heavy, but all in all a really nice bird.

Oops, also meant to say Congratulations to those of you whose birds did well. I thought ALL of our WA BYCer's birds were beautiful. And I'm completely unbiased.
Also Thank you to JB who helped me load my girls into their carrying box.

So a quick question - I'm guessing as with all new animals in a new environment that chickens need a period of adjustment, would that be accurate? I'm looking at my girls who are acting like they are hiding by pretending to be stone chickens. They are alert and watchful, but I wouldn't say relaxed. Also, plenty of layer pellets and water available and they don't seem interested yet. I've tried greens, toast bits and they looked at those like they were alien forms. Jean wasn't sure how old, she was thinking one was maybe 20 weeks, the other is smaller so I'm guessing younger. How long before I should start to worry?

ETA:They are chirping a bit, even heard my little lavender "purring" this morning. It as a sweet sound.
