Oops, also meant to say Congratulations to those of you whose birds did well. I thought ALL of our WA BYCer's birds were beautiful. And I'm completely unbiased.

So a quick question - I'm guessing as with all new animals in a new environment that chickens need a period of adjustment, would that be accurate? I'm looking at my girls who are acting like they are hiding by pretending to be stone chickens. They are alert and watchful, but I wouldn't say relaxed. Also, plenty of layer pellets and water available and they don't seem interested yet. I've tried greens, toast bits and they looked at those like they were alien forms. Jean wasn't sure how old, she was thinking one was maybe 20 weeks, the other is smaller so I'm guessing younger. How long before I should start to worry?
ETA:They are chirping a bit, even heard my little lavender "purring" this morning. It as a sweet sound.
