Nope, he took care of that the last time.

I have been initiated into Puppy-slave-hood.

And I'm working on my PHD in backside scratching.... Ollie likes that I do my homework.

I found that it only takes one really big dog with itchy skin, to be able to acquire that coveted Phd degree in backside scratching. I think it make take working on several smaller dogs with nasty skin issues to get the same degree of experience. As far as I can tell you are well on your way to that all important Phd degree.

Oh, good... As you can probably tell, there are few things in I want more in life than that P.h.d.

I'm sure if I put in a resume it'll help me get a great and well-paying job.

Ollie is almost as big as Puppy, but much younger, so he hasn't really developed any issues that require my attention. He's just spoiled, and that requires more attention that a skin issue probably would.

But his dad is prone to ear infections, and I'm hoping that wasn't passed on.

That is terrible!

I have not ordered mine yet - got caught up with other stuff, but I need to order them soon. I am going to try and find where I ordered mine from last year, because the ones I had were great; no holes. I'm also debating if I should get a big one that I can stretch over a frame for a quick greenhouse.

Well, I'm VERY happy to say that I got an e-mail first thing this morning saying they were very sorry for the inconvenience, and that a new one will be sent "promptly". I ordered it from Tarp Plus. Gotta say their customer service is looking pretty good. Now we'll see how quickly "prompt" actually is. Like I told them, I'd love to be able tell others that they have great service. I'll let you know. For now I have a wide board that fits over the that stretch of tarp and seems to be keeping the rain out.

I like your green house idea! I was wondering about that idea myself.

My goodness I am getting pounded over here!!!

We've been having on and off showers but all day cloudiness for a couple days, but when it rains, it RAINS.

Here in Olympia (Cooper Point) the sky opened last night and didn't stop. It woke me about 1 a.m. and every rtime I started to drift off, it pounded again. We have a covered deck just outside the bedroom window, so rain can be really noisy.

Having moved from Southern Cal 5 1/2 years ago, we still aren't used to all this wetness

Me, I look back in hope and longing to the halcyon days of 1998, when it was warm and dry from mid- February on and we had to lower the pump in the well in June

We're about 18 months long on this decennial weather cycle (ie it should have started drying up in late winter last year) but it should start getting relatively drier and relatively warmer sometime in the next six-twelve months.

What's highly weird is that the longest period of above 90F weather in recorded history in the Puget Sound area (so since 1832 or so) occured in this decennial cold/wet maxima cycle, in July/August 2008, including the only three-day 100F+ stretch ever. On the other hand, the only time it's gotten below zero at my house was in December of 1998, so, there ya go. Weather is weird; weather influenced by both the North Pacific and the polar winter low is weird plus.

here too - sounds like we have had our house parked under a pressure washer (metal roof makes for a real racket). I need to build a suspension bridge to the chicken coop. The new trail we built that was supposed to keep our shoes somewhat dry has failed. It held the water backon the lawn like a darn holds a lake, but sometime during the night, the lake topped the dam.

I ran out to the compost pile and the rain is not just heavy, but the drops are huge and coming down hard! My head felt like it was getting pummeled with ice pellets, but I stuck out my hand and saw nothing but rain. I then checked my cucumbers, and the leaves have been pummeled so hard, there is little more than the ribs left! U stripped it of the remaining cukes. I'll be having them for lunch in a few minutes.

It has been super windy too - I need to get those tarps ordered, I'm watching the chickens being blown around in their covered run, and it is in a relatively sheltered area of the yard!

ALSO: I would have payed big for one-day shipping on my new work shoes, but it wasn't available on that item. So I'll be fighting wet feet for another three to five days
