here too - sounds like we have had our house parked under a pressure washer (metal roof makes for a real racket). I need to build a suspension bridge to the chicken coop. The new trail we built that was supposed to keep our shoes somewhat dry has failed. It held the water backon the lawn like a darn holds a lake, but sometime during the night, the lake topped the dam.
I ran out to the compost pile and the rain is not just heavy, but the drops are huge and coming down hard! My head felt like it was getting pummeled with ice pellets, but I stuck out my hand and saw nothing but rain. I then checked my cucumbers, and the leaves have been pummeled so hard, there is little more than the ribs left! U stripped it of the remaining cukes. I'll be having them for lunch in a few minutes.
It has been super windy too - I need to get those tarps ordered, I'm watching the chickens being blown around in their covered run, and it is in a relatively sheltered area of the yard!
I'm glad we got the tarps up this weekend. We ended up putting a 7' board upright in the middle of the coops, so the rain would run off. It looks a little funky, but it was free. The boards were in the garage.
