Im sorry I couldnt use him. He looked very pretty! But, I believe mixing other colors other than Wheaten / blue wheaten is a no no... At least thats what I have been reading and told by a few more experienced breeders... Now Im on the hunt for a nicer Wheaten / BW Ameraucana roo... Cause Im about sick of the one I have. Poor girls dont get let out of the run solely because of that roo... Cant risk my daughter getting hurt.

Here's the man. He's half Mottled Houdan, half Gold Laced Polish. And boy does he crow a LOT.

He's only 5 months old and probably weighs more than my Tolbunt Polish boys.

The pullet in front is pure Polish though.

And here's my molting Shamo boy, he's got leg warmers today! Today is our first official frosty morning. How about you folks? Any frost yet?

Good grieff Illia! Your new boy looks HUGE! About how tall is he do you think?

Hey Illia?

Am I right in staying away from breeding my wheaten Am girls to another color veriety? Say like a bbs roo? That would just totally mess up the color right? Or is it possible to breed it back out. But even then, if it is possible to breed the "off" color back out. It would probably take a few generations, and still no garentee that it would not "pop" back up in the line. Correct? Or am I wrong?

Answered it in the Am thread.

How tall is he? Lemme go make an estimate. . . . He's pretty shy still.

Hi Everyone,
I try to get on and read everyday when Im at work. Thats right I still have a job, I didnt loose any time but did make someone a little upset at me. So Ive been really busy canning, this is my first year at really giving it a go. I love it dont know why I didnt do more before now. Ok Im not like the rest of you who's been doing it for months and months but next year I'll sure give it a try.
SadiSue can you post the link for the play again, Im thinking of trying to go sometime.

It's good to hear from you Cheri. I have been thinking of canning more. I want to can soup. DH likes to eat soup like Progresso, and Progresso is expensive. I also would rather have him eat food cooked from scratch. He does prefer my cooking, but that isn't surprising given that he has to eat in restaurants. I need to find a gasket for my pressure canners. That means I need to dig out the canners. I have had them for years, and have yet to get gaskets for either one.

I make big pots of soup or stew, divide it into containers, and freeze it. It's easier than canning.

Cheri, So good to hear from you again! The play is over unfortunately. All shows in a season only run for 4 weeks. Sorry you missed this one, but I'll let you know when the next good one comes up, (like when I'm in it!)
Have fun canning - one of these days I'm going to have to try that...
