Thanks! Notice the dog looking at me? That's Riley. He's always freezing and loves to lay right on the heater vent when it is on.
Silly pup was begging me to let him back in the house!

We have a Yellow Lab, Dozer, like that. We leave them out in the fenced yard when we leave for the day. Dozer loves to be in the house, especially if we are so he is not 'conditioned' for colder weather. The other day we got home and Dozer couldn't wait to get in the house. His teeth were chattering! Cracked us up. His favorite spot in the winter is in front of the wood stove. Bella on the other hand is always on the alert for anyone going outside, going down to the animals, or leaving in the truck. If she thinks anyone is doing any of those things she will NOT come in the house. She doesn't want to miss anything. She usually prefers to be outside anyway unless it's late at nite. That little Corgi is tough as nails.

I LOVE Dozer and Bella! Those dogs might accidentally go for a little ride in my car (to my home) the next time I come out to see you...

You can pretty much count on it.

On that note, I'm trying to decide if I want to haul a bunch of birds down just for a Sale Cage. I'm not sure I want to mess with it. Would anyone have any interest in WBS Ameraucanas, Barnie cockerels, or Buckeyes?

If so, please email and let me know. I can also give you my phone # then to if you'd like to talk.

God Bless,

this is Mr Decker's reply again, this time with his APA/ABA Judge below his name...............he not only insulted the breed, and those who imported it, but lists BYC as some kind of looser chicken group...as if we do not only treasure our breeds, but take them very seriously.
Alot of ALBC & SPPA old time breeders are raising & taking an interest in this ancient land race breed.
Poop.
I guess I will leave them at home.
This is worse than raising Rhode Island Whites.

His quote, followed by mine:

Hi Robin;

I mistakenly thought that when you said Icelandic chickens you were talking about a standard bred breed from Iceland. After looking at the picture and reading your description it seems that someone imported barnyard chickens from Iceland and I see almost no connection between them and a APA/ABA poultry show. Perhaps you should be advertizing them on the Backyardchicken group or the Urban chicken gatherings around Portland. If one isn’t set to produce a standard bred bird then an APA/ABA sanctioned poultry show seems to me to probably not be the appropriate place for them.

The Icelandic Chickens have only in the last year been imported to the USA.

They are not in the standard.

They have all comb types, all clors, some feather legged, some clean shanked, some crested, some not.

I doubt seriously if they can ever be standardized,'

Hence their alure

See attached photos.

And this is why I was asking to set my table up next to the Fav club or Ameracauna club tables, to display & educate the public.

Not enter them as showbirds.

I have my own table, and will pay for a 'spot' next to the other breed clubs tables.

Thanks, Robin Davis

Backyard chicken group?
Portland?
What?????
These are purebred awesome chickens, imported from Iceland, and have been raised for over 400 years.
