Oh, I forgot to post last night. We totally forgot to candle our Serama eggs on Day 10 which was Sunday, so we did it last night. About half were clear and we had one blood ring, so we are down to only 10 of them. Tonight we candle the other batch as it is day 10 for them. These are our own eggs so I am expecting much higher fertility as they weren't shipped.

You know, there are times when the BYC policy against profanity just makes it impossible to be accurate and truthful.

Bacchus is running around loose on the yard, I had to cut his shelter-tarp to get him him out of the pen. I've got the critical 25% of snow off the Hamburg run, and am going out to pick away at it again after my feet warm up. I'll put a new tarp (or more probably the 6mil sheet plastic Franklin bought when the back windshield blew up) over the bench/trellis on the lower patio and some temporary fencing around it so he can sleep dry tonight and think seriously about building an interior pipe frame for the pen before we get any more of this (think of the top half of chicken feces).

Anyway, from Mr. Clemens (Samuel Langhorn, not Clarence, both of blessed memory):

Under certain circumstances, urgent circumstances, desperate circumstances, profanity provides a relief denied even to prayer.

You know that Mark Twain was a mighty smart fellow!! And your right about BYC, only problem with that, is you know someone would over do it and offend people and yea...there ya go!! As my mother used to say "if you can't say something nice don't say it at all" Not that I obeyed that too often, even now, ..... maybe I better start?

CL. No that's another tree branch. Looks like a line yep. Power lines are about 250 feet away.

My BIL is hoping that the new service line PSE put in to the well down at his family place is going to hold, especially since it also powers the heat in the sow barn and he had eight sows farrow in the past four days.

Yes, I am here. We didn't get much new snow, only 2" more at most. We still have power! Hoping it stays on! Watching the news and looking at those winds down in Oregon, one place had over 100 mph winds!!! Those just need to stay down there!!!

Love the photo's! I'll have to try and take some today. We are totally impressed. We had a county plow come up our hill and midnight and there is another one out there right now!!!!

Oh I am so relieved !
I was worried about your eggs !

OK here is my truck funny howthe snow piled on the cab. It has not been touched.

Quincy playing.

Sorry but I was in too much of a hurry to try to slavage so didn't get any before pics. But you can see that after I got the snow off the wire is still almost on the ground. THis one is my biggest concern as it is my Am B and I know with no top they will fly off.

And the RIR pen this one the neting was nearly high enough for me to walk in. But now it is on the ground. The "T" posts that hold the sides up are pulled flat to the ground.

And remember them garden hogs from a day or so ago? Well they are not so happy now. Do ya see em they are just 2 lumps in the snow.

Wow !
Your place looks as busted up as ours !
Bummer with chicken wire netting over the pens, it don't rip & does pull the T posts over.
Our netting is the plastic stuff so it ripped & did not yank our posts over, thankfully !
Lots of work to do now, getting rain yet ?

Weather heads are saying Gale Force winds in Grays Harbor, to our North, but so far, no wind here....
What's next ?
Locusts ?
LOL
Oh yeah, floods are next
