i can't sit there... i am at college.... its driving me crazy being here and not able to do anything.... i plan to tell my guy friends that they are welcome to stalk out the coop for them, just no duck or chicken target practice.... Dad takes a shotgun with him when he is at the coop.
I am not as mad about the owls killing because its not every day... that and they are protected..... the other 2 are not...

they are also killing during the day.... cause the one rooster that was killed he is in the main coop at night. Coyote goes by 9am... bobcat image was at 3pm. I just can't keep everyone locked in the coop all the time.... and these predators know there is a food source, even if locked in for a week.... they pace the fence. i got images... and that bobcat jumps the fence.

Did they get those wonderful looking ducks you hatched?

amazingly the ducks haven't been killed (yet)....... i do not understand why.... lost that Nice copper marans rooster weeks ago (though he had a white tail feather)....
In 4 years of chicken keeping i have never had predator problems soooo bad. they must have all told each other i own a buffett..... only thing missing is Lions, Bears andWolves....

If she weren't too high for my ladder, I'd have put her in the coop. She's on her own tonight. If she doesn't make it, I'll replace her with someone smarter. She was supposed to lay blue eggs, but instead she lays pink eggs. Maybe this time I'll get a blue egg layer.

I have some really nice blue egg layer pullets if you want one. But, they aren't too bright either.

Sorry to hear about all that. If I was closer I would stop by and check it out for ya.
Not headed over to my dad's place until the spring though.
If nothing else, maybe yer dad will end up with some hides to sell @ his trading post?

And I probably will never change it! I love looking at it. Super bad pic of me but brings back GOOD memories of GOOD times. And I looooved that horse.

Dang, DH just texted and wants to be picked up. I have been stuck in the house with him all week. Thought I'd get a day to myself today finally. I wanted to get the house cleaned up and I can't do it with him in here. Drives me nuts. OK, off the Gig Harbor.

dad and john did a head count and locked everyone in./....... 46 chickens.... i have lost all my valuable roosters... i have 2 roosters......

my chickens will not be seeing sunlight again till spring... maybe not even after.

dad said many disappeared the past 2 nights with no bodies found.... the 2 bodies found were killed within the pen.

these critters are dead now.


come spring time i will need to buy new icelandic rooster and hens... and new blue birchen marans.......
