Well, my Tolbunt eggs went from 6 good down to 5 good. . . And I think it is my fault.

In other news, I'm SO glad today was filled with light showers and mostly sun!!

I finally got to weed several beds, plant a whole 'nother bed of Blue Potatoes, and get the Araucana flock situated into their new place. Today marks day 1 for them, and they're still not happy. . . Found several trying to hide in the most odd places, and a few that got loose.

Been there, and it is absolutely gorgeous.
In reverse, it is almost exactly like here, the plants, the rhodies, daffodils, green !
It is beautiful.
And the people there are awesome, too.
And, it is the heart of NASCAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GEEEEEZZEEE!!!!!
If you can go, without loosing your home here, just for 2 years or so, and it does not effect your pension etc, I advise you to go, for the simple reason of experiencing life.
Especially where they speak english, sugar.
I also love to fish, and on my bucket list is to get a small motor home (or truck & camper) and start here, and visit every state, even Alaska, and in each state fish...and hunt here and there as well.
The flora and fauna, the experience, it is an awesome place.
But then, who would take care of your place ?
If Boeing wants you to go out there, they should pay heavily !

Some time this spring or summer we will be out your way as we want to hike on la push. We did part of it one day in the fall which turned out to be a rare hot as heck day. So will look forward to meeting up with you somewhere in town for coffee? let ya know when I know I will be out. We do go quite a bit to Port angeles as my DH is a kayak surfer at salt creek.

Why ? Why your fault ?
I have a big question for you, and anyone else listening, here we go:
My broody Lucille has the 18 PBR pullets (one is actually a roo) and they are 4 weeks old, and Lucille is wanting to have sex with the roo now, so I am thinking she is coming out of broody...
The Q here is:
When do I seperate the broody from the chicks ?
And I am going to put her back in with the rest of the layers, and the chicks in another house farther away..is that OK you think ?

Well, . . . We've got just the places for an auction, but noone out here has chickens or would want them, and I highly doubt you people who live 2-6 hours away would want to come all the way down to Forks here for an auctionin which only the outsiders would have something for.

I guess I'd just have to stick with being the one to drive for hours to do something like that.

'Tis raining now. . . . I feel so non-productive, sitting here on the forums.

I could be planting, or cleaning the coop, or something. . . But it's raining and not very warm.

This rain is giving me a pain in my joints that has no end! It also makes me moody

ChickieLady: It's your choice, really. I'd keep the chicks with mom though. That's the point of a broody.

herbandteas: That would be great!

Name me a month/week/day and we can go from there.

The last pict is of the Roo

Illia I think you are right, just needed some input, how long do you leave them together, isolated from the other layers ?
I think I will try another week or two, and watch her to see if she is ready to blow...this morning she was so upset to get outside, in a seperate run just for her and the chicks...she was bouncing off the brooder, knocking heatlamps, flipping out !

I too am planning on a run over to Illia's side of the world, just cuz we like to go sploring.
So, will let you know, cuz I wanna see those babies and the baby goats !!!!
