He is cute, I cannot keep him, but wanted to ask, he is a Light brahma, or is at least 1/2 light brahma.
Correct ?
Why does he attack your leg ?
Is it the color of your pants ?
Is it something you may be carrying that sets him off ?

No, he doesn't have Light Brahma in him. It's just a common EE rooster color, even my EE roo looked like that when he was young. It's a duckwing derivative.

But you can be around them if you take Diphenhydramine ?
Or do you have to go get shots at the dr's office ?
I have all sorts of autoimmune issues that would blow you away.
Stress triggering alot of it:
Case in point: years ago breaking up with a boyfriend and we had a homested, etc...and I was so upset (did not know it at the time) that I woke up with both sides of my neck scalded as if by mouten metal...burning, weeping and the skin disapreared...no doc could figure it out.
They were going by what type of plant I was around, in Glide OR: like poison oak ?
Sorry, there was no such thing there.
I had to apply ice, nothing else helped.
Try sleeping with ice all around your neck.

Back to Illia: does anyone here sell unpasturized goat milk ?
It is all I can eat.
And I would love to have a few gallons a week so I can make myself a round of brie.

so i have just tried to move the broody bantm from her place plus eggs and put them in a dog crate with door open in a little dog kennel.

it has to be moved because i can't let it hatch chicks under the roost in the droppings. but she now wont go to the eggs in the kennel....

i will be away from my computer for an hour... and i am house sitting so i will be leaving the chicken area soon. and will not return till tomorrow afternoon. she is 1week and a half from hatching.....

i do not want to ruin the hatch but i want it to be in a safe area and not have them hatch and get killed by the flock.

if someone could tell me what to do soon it would be great.

Have you tried duck eggs? I grew up allergic to chicken eggs and it is not as severe now that I'm older but I have tried some of the duck eggs from a co-worker and they didn't bother me! I have also heard the same outcome for others with allergies. Check some of the forum on BYC here for more info! I just got 5 new baby ducklings and am hoping for females so I can have my own supply! Wanted to tell you that we drove past that house on the highway between Raymond and Monte that I told you about ?
With the crested ducks and runners ?
There must be 10 pens with a pair in each pen...and we stopped and asked a guy that was there if he would sell eggs, and he said no.
Did not have any more time to talk to him.
Maybe he sells on line....why he would not sell to us I do not know, I had my wallet in my hand!~~~~~

no, just EE from the feed store last spring...

I think he just attacks my leg because it's the closest thing to him when he's on the ground. My other roo, the buff wyandotte, is so sweet to me, though. He protects me by getting between the other roo and me and has even jumped on him to get him away. It works too.

He's a very handsome boy and good in all ways to the flock, just not very nice to me in the daytime. He must be insecure or something and wants to have a standoff with me. I dunno...

Put her in the crate ! With the eggs under her.
Like make a nest, put the eggs in, and then put her in and shut the door.
Hopefully then she will get over the confines of the crate.
Geeze I hope it works out for you, usually a broody will follow...Mine always tend to go back to the nest they had before, some even set in the exact spot where their nest used to be, but I think she will get over it~~
If not, do you have an incubator ready ?

Geeeeeze I have known so many human boys with just the same problem~~~~

I have sent 2 or 3 PM's to a seller for some advertised guinea eggs and I want half the package in Palm Turkeys...so 6 Guineas and ^ Turkey eggs...and she is not responding....and I am greatly worried after this last weekend the stoems that blew through Georgia, and up through the South East....dan it !
I want that mix !!!!!

But even worse I am worried about Bargain ! Such awesome good people !

we made a compromise....

since in the dog kennel she wouldn't stay in the crate on the eggs.... i moved the crate right on top of her broody spot under the roost and she got out looked around then walked back in and glared at me....

so i will leave her be in the crate for the time being... in a few days, near hatching i will close her in the dog crate and put her in the dog kennel....

sound liek a good plan?
