ok so... I've never done chickens feet before so need help. (always just threw it in the dogfood pan)
I'd like to try it on my next rooster that hits freezer camp.
anyone know how to clean chicken feet so I can use in my soup rather then the dogs food?

I have tried to peel the outer skin from the feet. I used the method that I had read here on BYC. I don't know what I did wrong, but they were very difficult to peel. I gave up trying after more than an hour of trying to get them skinned. I haven't given it much thought since.

I think I have same problem.. I dropped in boiling water then pulled out and tried to peel the outer skin and failed...
the feet went to dog food pot.

Oh and just a side note Mt Rainier is considered an active volcano. It mine, so if it goes if she blows it's my fault. (evil giggles)

Yep same thing happened here. I was mad at myself for wasting the time trying to do it.

Wow the other day somebody commented that there was hardly enough meat on quail to make them worth the effort to clean. And you 2 want to go to all the work to skin feet. HELLOOOOO just in case ya didn't notice they are much smaller than quail and I am pretty sure have way less meat than a quail.

Yes stock with chicken feet is fabulous! but alas I don't know how to skin feet yet..
Once you try stock with chicken feet in it you really can tell the difference when theres no chicken feet in the broth.

and it is supposed to be really easy to do!.. must be some secret no one is telling me about for preparing em

I had teh Honduran Red Points from my aquariums. They are just aquarium ornamental fish. At the time these were hard to find, but are more common now. A mom and pop pet shop will have something that you can use. It mostly depends on what you want. If you have a tank big enough to grow out tilapia to eat then do that. If not there are many small cool or coldwater fish. My water is alwas 71 or 72 degrees so many fish are able to live in it. Gold fish will live in most conditions you will meet, but may not have enough room in a small bucket or tank.

It was the wild type swordtails that caught my attention. I had red devil cichlids that finally got rid of. It seemed like they were breeding faster than I had space for. Not to mention that the tank wasn't big enough any more. i have always been told that fish will not out grow the tank. Well I can say that if you feed them like I do that fish do out grow the size of tank. That is why I now have a 19" fire eel, and a 12 to 13" pleco. That wouldn't be so bad but with all the other fish in the tank it does at times look a little crowded in there. I was given 3 Tin Foil barbs by TomatoLady, and they have more than doubled in size since they came to live here.
