Apparently
there are statues of chickens and roosters all over Winlock...I want one !!!
They even have one titled the world's biggest egg..it is a big egg on top of a pole
big_smile.png

I am forced to see these everytime we go to Scott's for feed, and I want one baaaaaaaaaaaad!!!!!

Well as the story goes.... Winlock use to be a huge egg producer. Every year they have "EGG DAY" which includes a parade and other things and they serve free egg sandwhiches. Yes if you didn't see the big egg just go over the RR tracks and turn right. It is a couple blocks up the street. If ya continue past the egg on that road (hwy 603) you will come to Avery Rd ( very large intersection) turn R and it will take ya right to where we met at the fwy.

Ya' know what is funny....for anyone else she would not be doing this (talking from experiencce)...You are special...You are Mom...You get all the "special" behavior.

Sorry, I am laughing with you...breath...laugh. Tomorrow she will be 16 and wanting to borrow the keys to the car and the day after that she will be going to college. (hypothetically of course). It is easy to stand on this side of the computer and say that and it is harder to be right there with a 2 yo or 3 yo or 9 yo, etc....right there having a tempertantrum.

I can sympathize. If you were closer, I would tell you to send her over...she could play with the 9 yo. You can do it. Really sounds like you need a break. Leave her with DH and go get a coffee?

Yea just like any little one. Always better for someone other than Mom and Dad. I'm about to send her to stay with her Aunty so I can have a day to myself. Granted I would just clean my house and care for critters, but sometimes thats all I need. My mother is a great help for short amounts of times, but she is disabled and can not keep up with the little one. Plus in my oppinion, she drinks far to much booze, for all the meds she is on... Ok enough of that... Just need to make it through the end of the year, and all will go back to normal hopefully.

I should have also stated that I too have been through this age...that is meant when I said I could sympathize. I even asked her teacher about her behavior in class....it is the teacher who told me she saved the "special behavior" for me.

And always remember to take care of yourself....If you need a day off and Aunty will take her....this gives you some peace and relaxation so that you can be a better mom....remember this.

You are doing a good job, I am sure.

Are these BRs? Sorry, I don't know if there are other breeds that look BRs...I am not great at the breeds. We love BRs and the Cochins (which I know there are many). If you have young ones of these in the spring, we would love to get (preferably females) next spring. Pretty boys.

These are Silver Cuckoo Marans, pink legs and all...

They are pretty.

dumb dogs.

I sure would like to try and come for the potluck....but it is quite a ways and the weather is suppose to be a bit harsh this year, so I will just have to wait and see.

I don't know if this is called a hoar frost...we just always call it frozen frost.

. He thought the fishy would like it, so he poured it into their tank, it made the water milky white and they all died. It was sad but funny day.

...oh the things 2 year olds can do !!!
Crisco'd the family cat and all the knobs in the house....dumped rocks in the toilet to wash them, then flushed...had to rip up the whole toilet...2 weeks later dumped bars of soap in the toilet and flushed, so we ripped up the toilet again thinking it was rocks...oh so funny !!!!!

I've lived in WA 5 years and still haven't been to "Egg Days" in Winlock

I keep wanting to go but haven't gotten around to it. I did finally get to "Cheese Days" in Toledo last year, though... I haven't been to the Garlic Festival in Chehalis either, and want to go to that. Maybe this summer, I'll make a point of getting to all the local festivals
big_smile.png
especially Egg Days!!!

I think Winlock used to be the largest commercial egg supplying town in the west or something along those lines. I can't remember exactly...
