We are very blessed to have her! I did not even know I was pregnant until I was 9 weeks ... I was bleeding constantly and initially went to the Dr. for that. He had an old ultrasound machine and could not see the placenta previa, but hormones revealed I was pregnant (as did the nauseating smell of an egg being fried - usually like that smell, but it is repulsive when I'm pregnant). Went to Maternal Fetal Medicine at 14 weeks, they had a new machine and the technologist said she could not find my cervix. I told her it would not open when I was in labor with DS, so I'm sure it did not fall off! Turns out the emergency C-section then did damage to the cervix, and left it a scarred mass. DD implanted in my cervix and my uterus was tipped backward and empty!

Olivia had no sucking reflex at birth either, but she was quite big for her age, 7 pounds! Her weight dropped off quickly. They let me take her home at nights, but we had to spend the days in the hospital to try and get her eating. She dropped more than a pound in 4 days and was nearly 5 weeks old by the time she got back up to her birth-weight. .... and then she grew lungs, and that quiet little baby whimper became a screaming baby (my son was sooo much easier as a baby - different now. He has high functioning autism. He's very bright, so most people just see him as an eccentric kid)

Best wishes to you and your wife, and I hope Emma learns how to eat soon. Olivia was a very slow eater, it took her hours, and 10 minutes later she'd be hungry again! She would not even try baby food, squash and such, until she was nearly 18 months old! Then her growth skyrocketed and in 2 years she went from 20th percentile to 95th! The photos you have of your daughter on FB are beautiful! Olivia also had frosty blonde hair like that.

I look forward to meeting you and your DD someday.

OK so hereis some egg pics. Sorry I didn't do a very good job of getting them in order.
The 3 bottom left are what I think are from the crows. The 3 bottom right are from the silky. Second row second from right is from one of the new RIR banty's and the rest are from anybody's guess.

Remember CL- those of us that have very crappy immune systems are affected by little things much worse! STRESS!!!! I was a total stress case at the beginning of the month and low and behold- I was down for a whole week sick!!

Major sinus thing and ears and absolutely no energy!! No cough really but just felt like someone was standing on my chest. I am still trying to fully recoup from it! That's why I really tried to not let the stress of Christmas and my family get to me. It takes me forever to get over even the smallest "bug". UGH!!

Likewise .... and last I looked, I was beating you at Bejeweled.

CR: I got a septic story that beats the poop out of yours! We had our house that we are currently living in built about 8 years ago. The guy who installed the septic did a sh#%**y job. Initially it was not even hooked up to the house and it passed inspection 3X before we moved in! Initially there was an open pipe above the garage doors where the master bathroom drained. I kept smelling pee and thought the builders who were still working on the basement at the time were too lazy to walk to the bathroom! (the driveway was not in yet, just mud). Then one morning DH flushed the toilet while I was down there.

Eeeeew... my skin stil crawls thinking about that shower. Called the builder "Oh, I did not hook the Master Bath up yet as I'm waiting for a part for the shower drain!" I went to HD got the part and had someone hook it up that morning (after he removed all the stinking insulation). The next day, all the drains were making gurgly sounds, and the shower, washer and dishwasher won't drain. The builder said my son must have flushed some toys and plugged the system, so I lifted a septic tank lid, and saw the tank was completely dry, as in NEVER used! I started digging for the pipe leading from the house, but could not find it. My friend was doing our landscaping so he used his backhoe and there were no pipes! Then, I did not notice that when the idiot septic installer finally got the pipes in to connect the tanks to the house, he did not cap off the septic clean-out. It was in an area of the yard that we did not have landscaped at the time, but just uphill from it is the lawn that my son and his friends play soccer on. Well, each time the ball would roll down there, the boys would pick up a stone and throw it down the open pipe. 15 months later, the gurgling sound started again, and there was a horrible stench coming from the basement. I go down there and find the shower pan and the furnace room filled with sewage! I called a different plumber out and he tells me that the house is so backed up and the blockage so solid that even a commercial snake didn't work. He told me there will be a 10' geyser when he gets the thing cleared, and since the clean-out is filled with rocks, that geyser will be in my shower! Absolutley NOT!!!. I had the poor guy go outside, dig a hole to the pipe above the blockage and cut it off there. Poor guy. That should have been the job for the initial septic installer. The poor guy was on his belly with his head in the hole when the pipe let out the geyser (they have showers on the exteriors of their trucks for situations like this)! He then sent a camera down the pipe and discovered that even if DS had not thrown the rocks down the pipe, the same thing would have eventually happened because the pipes sagged and had bellies to them that pooled water and sewage. Also, when he was digging, he saw that the bed for the pipe was not properly prepared with the required gravel and such. The installer just used the dirt that he dug up when he put the pipes in! You'd think the initial installer should be responsible for the bill, but I had to pay $3K to get it all cleared and properly repaired!

Sorry CL.

Take a stress break! Every once in awhile even us mom's need to get away from the kids and all their drama!

So Dr.Toni says- No phone calls or emails should be answered from the grown adult children till they can put their mom and her well being first for awhile! Take 2 mugs of bedtime tea and get a good night's sleep.

Fantastic. Glad they worked out....I love them.

LOL. I didn't even realize (at first) what the 4312 meant. And now that I have 5 dogs, I could change my name to 5dogs4cats3kids....just wish I could figure out how to get the 2 and the 1 switched to be in the right order....oh well. My old email was sixdogs2many for the longest time....I am just babbeling now because I am so tired.

Long day at the Vet office. Old dog had to be put down - very sad. A dog with bladder stones - they were huge. A cat that weighed 24 lbs - lover. A Yorkie puppy that was left in a box in the Home Depot parking lot - left to freeze, but saved by good person. I am still getting used to all the fast pace but loving it.
