Yes we heard about it on the news this morning...what is wrong with those religious nuts ??
Seems like there is always some off the wall weirdo rallying the congregation for some freaky reason.
How cruel for the family.
Can't the police stop them ?
Everyone deserves to have a quiet and respectful funeral !

Oh yeah, and I also didn't get to make any gluten-free pizza today.

Perhaps tomorrow.

this is the one that I have.. except I quit feeding the little piggy so much..I try to keep the starter to about 1 1/2 cups or so and usually feed it when I think about it and usually only about 1/4 cup or so.

Oh, Illia - that sucks! I hope it can be fixed with minimal expense.

I have a friend coming to help me build one next week - divided so I can use half as a sheltered chicken run. I'm using those wavy clear panels, not the fiberglass ones, for the roof; wood frame. The panels held up for more than 8 years and withstood yard of snow on them a couple years ago. I love a lot of the greenhouse kits in the catalogs, but I'm afraid they will collapse.

I went on the web site and suddenly my computer went off line, the snow doing some damage somewhere I guess.
But I did get a halfway decent look at the pizza, looks great!
But I am afraid if I ate 3 or 4 peices of cauliflower pizza I would explode in a viscious gas ball that would rock the house off it's foundation...

I bookmarked the site so I can go back and look.
I like to have a sweet once in a while, and better a sweet-salty (like a payday candy bar) is my choice of goodie...I do not really like too sweet.
It sounds like a great web site.
I have a great muffin pan, try some chef web sites.

Well, the nice thing about our greenhouse is that I'm 100% sure the visqueen is not broken or ripped, and the greenhouse itself is made of PVC, which we have plenty of, so at least it isn't seriously expensive to replace or fix.

Reminds me of a quote from a Show - "Is this blue cheese, or cheese that has gone blue?"

I would prolly stick with cat food--dry or canned, 'cause it's higher in protein.. Dry food is going to have more carbs, the canned has more protein.... If you soak dry food in milk--whole milk would be the yummiest I would imagine? But you aren't meaning for their entire diet right? just as treat or as extra? Small kibble cat food wouldn't be a problem I don't think--as long as it's scattered? Mine like dry kitten food--I put it in the duck pool for treats on occasion and like right now, with it being so cold, I give them canned kitten food pretty regularly. When you do the flax and rice bran--how are you feeding it? And the kelp you get, is the same for feeding as for making fertilizer? Where is Wilco? Since I am not far from Puyallup, I would totally be happy to pick some up for you, and bring it out here to Fircrest? Save you a few miles anyway:)

Maybe I'll try some soaked dry cat food if the fertilzer supply house doesn't have fish meal. Usuallt when I buy the organic fertilizer ingredients they are pure, no additives. probably not human food grade but fine for the animals. I had just read about the rice bran for the chickens so havn't tried it on the chickens yet. It's high in fat and great for coats (horses) so assume it would help with feathers and underweight chickens that need a boost. The kelp and flax (you can get that in 50# sacks also at the feed store. Dells has it sometimes but last time I had to order it) I usually add about 1/4 cup of either or bothe to a 20 to 30 lb feeder. I'm not very scientific about it but you don't need much kelp. If I used the rice bran I would start with 1 cup for the same size feeders. I know how to get to Wilco but can't remember streets. I do know I take river road to Meridian and make a left. Go over the train trussles and make a left on that main street you come to after you pass the freeway entrances. Go down a ways and it's on the left. it's in with a bunch of baby diarrhea yellow colored industrial buildings. Easy to miss cause they have a small sign. Thanks for the offer of picking it up but I need to make a run over there and Wilbur Ellis anyway to get all my fertilizer for the year and it's a truck full!

lol! yeh.. probably wouldn't all fit in the back of the jeep would it? that would be a sight. This is good info.. I am always looking for healthy snack stuff for the chickens, to help their feathers and stuff... One of the call breeders back east/midwest uses kelp with his ducks to help with fertility and hatch rate.. I am very curious to try it with mine.

Thanks for the information!
if you think about it, let me know when you are over this way.. if it works for both of us, it would be fun to meet for a quick cup of coffee or something in the area!
