Thank you Russ! I will try that next time. Ive already emailed Chickielady about my little experiment. Hopefully she will get a kick out of it like I did. I'm still giggling over it.

you guys should post all the recipes on DIYseattle's site! there is a place for recipes!
That cake looks yummy!

Kinda funny. Even though I knew it was cake, I was imagining bread. And thought everyone's gone crazy, saying that runny bread looks yummy.

DS is bummed about the roo ... but he understands. How much do you want for the pullet and the hen? and a couple of Blue copper maran hens and/or black copper marans pullets or young hens? I'm hoping my new coop will be done in the next 2 weeks. The weather has not been cooperating; too wet to get the tar paper up. I would kinda like a couple of roos, they would need to be able to tolerate each other. I'm in no hurry for them, but DD wants one of our hens to hatch some eggs. Is it best to wait for new chicks with all the different birds I want?

The elk are really cool to watch, but the males make me nervous, especially if it is a herd of your bachelors. Our neighborhood association pays a landscape crew to mow the grass on the shoulders of the road so the county won't complain. We got a bill for elk damage to a vehicle. A bachelor herd chased down the guy mowing the lawns. He ran for his truck but could not get the door open in time, so he dove underneath. Several elk stuck around for about 10 minutes while the elk kicked the car!

I'm just looking for blue or green eggs, so that is fine with me. DS loves our Australorps best for her beautiful, irridescent feathers, so the plack pullet would be perfect.

You are a wonderful artist.

If you have PINK feed bags and JB doesn't want em I DO !!!!

She did want it, back in the Pink Bag thread. We'll see what she says. If not it's yours. Of course if you're really the Rustler, it'll disappear before morning.

calling JB calling JB.

I am so fed up with the mud in my run. So today I thought I know how to help it and make the girlz happy too. I put my skills to work. I made off with the tractor from the stables and started smuggling some used sawdust/horse poo to dump in the run. Since I have no way to get in from the outside I just put the loader over the top of the run and sprinkled it in. Of course as soon as the chickens saw the road apples falling they broke out into the redneck version of chicken little ( the sky is falling). I also discovered that the fish net over the run will hold up way more poo than the than the wood frame will.

I got 4 nice scoops in there before it got too muddy to get close with the 4x4 tractor but at least it will help. And talk about a bunch of happy girlz. I didn't even bother to spread it the chickens were doing a fine job and having a blast.
