OOO Oww. Sorry for that...

And now, I will be smart and learn from your mishap. Along with you

Yes! By all means DO NOT copy me! Do yourself the favor and wear those goofy looking safety glasses. All I see out of my right eye are light prisms and blurry shapes... Makes driving at 5:30 AM a bit sucky. Thought my vission was bad before. "I lost 1/3 of my vission in my left eye from getting hit by the wing of an eclectus parrot. Feathers are nasty, and carry alot of bacteria." And now my right eye...

Guess I'm just destined to wear glasses.

Oh and good morning BYC friends and Family! You know who you all are!

Good morning

I sure am happy the daylight hours are longer. We have at least 4 hens laying now. The bantams have finally laid!!!!!! One is a light green, one is a light blue. And they are huge for their itty bitty bodies.

Update on pup: feeling a little energy this am (YAY!) and actually played with a toy for about a minute. Still cries in pain some, usually if one of the bumps are very swollen and irritated. Eyes actually seem to be less swollen today. But lower jaw, ears, and muzzle are all getting more and more nodules which are painful for her. She also is getting them (to a lesser extent) on her abdomen and genitalia. Her lymph nodes are all about the same size- no increase or decrease. But usually what the fatal part is when the lymph nodes get so swollen it cuts off the trachea so I don't think she'll have a problem. We're still holding out hope that she won't have long term scarring. Still a bit tough to get her to eat her regular food- so I'm going to pick up the canned variety of her normal food. She eats the canned food well for her meds but I didn't want to give her a different diet completely so I've been mixing the canned food we bought with her kibble. She at least feigns interest in it. She has lost more weight though so we need to get her to start eating.

Otherwise good here

Have you tried soaking her kibble in some sort of broth? The crunchy bits might be why she is refusing to eat it. So maby if you were to soften it, she would be more willing, if not more comfortable eating it? Just a thought. I'm glad she's feeling a little better, poor little pup.

How old are Silkys when they start laying? My little one is holding out on me...

Yeah, I have thought of that. Since I'm running errands today I'll be able to pick up canned food for her which will be even more stinky than softened kibble. If it's too outrageously priced or I can't find her brand, then I might try to soak her kibble. It also gives her more hydration with either one which will be good.

Good Morning ALL!!!

CL : HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY ROBIN!!

Hope you had a greaet day!: yiipchick
Too bad the supplier won't send you another batch of eggs...
PPP : That is great news! Hope she keeps her spirit & energy up! Minced beef & rice has always made my dogs feel extra special when they were sick.
Spent all day frantically making a new duckingham palace and fencing the permanent run. Hope to have it done before the monsoon hits on Sat.
Candled my 2 eggs and OMG!!! I saw the spider shadow! One dud and one good egg. I'll have to buy him a pal if he hatches. DH said he was not going to treat him like lucky Daffy.
Maybe I'll get a fawn & white from Monroe.

Wow, had a lot to read through. And oh ya, I bit late but Happy belated Birthday Robin! What a bummer about your eggs. That happened to me too with the yolk dripping from the box. I didn't get my money back and didn't want more eggs either, not if they packed them the same way again. Still hatched 2 from the batch. Oh well, what kind of eggs were they?

I am proud to announce I got my first Black Copper Marans egg yesterday after a 6 week strike because I moved them to a new pen. Another hen was in the box thinking about but didn't lay. Spring is on the way!

And hatching today are Blue Wheaton Marans, Barnevelders and 4 Bantam Cochins from my babies that were massacred.

Been running around getting supplies for planting and growing. In case anyone is interested I found fish meal at Wilco and Wibur Ellis. Wilco is $45 and Wilbur Ellis is $42 for 50 lb.

4H mom, Was it you that posted the amount of drops of Eprinex to use for worming? It was posted a while back and can't find it. Do you just use an eye dropper for the drops?

Iether way! I am sure we are all hoping the best for your little pup! So sad that she's sick.

When my old girl isn't feeling well, or she refuses to eat the dry food, I boil her up some chicken, cut it up and mix in with some very soft cooked rice. Sometimes thats all I can get her to eat. But I do what ever I need to to keep her happy, healthy, and comfy. The two younger dogs always stare at me with questioning eyes. Like; "Mom, why don't WE get any?" lol And when the time comes that the two youngsyers need that extra pampering, well they will get it. But not until then. On the topic of my oldster, I can no longer rearange my livingroom. Poor dusty's eyes are fogging over, and I'm pretty sure she has less than half sight. She knows the layout of our house, but if even one of the computer chairs has been moved, she will bump into it, repetedly. And I don't dare let her outside unatended anymore... "I do mean in my fenced yard, I'm not big on my dogs roaming around alone, even on my property." Poor old thing. Love her to death, as she was my first baby.
