OMG That is sooo cute!
I had a Barred Rock hen (out of a flock of 25) that insisted she lay her egg daily, in my washing machine!
She would flip out, pacing back & forth & fly up on the lid and scream at me if the lid was down.
She would get in the washer tub then, nice & quiet, and lay her giant egg!
The garage door and the washing machine lid always had to be opened, daily, just for her.
We called her "May" after Maytage..
I had forgotten about that.
I am glad she never went broody in my washer
well that was pretty much it today, who knew a tiny little hen could sound like a giant osprey waiting to kill something!! funny little creatures arent they!
I had a corner of that coop wired off with roost bars for them, as I was only sposed to have like 4 or 5 chickens for eggs...apparently I did not know about chicken math when we made that. do now!! I took half and split it, roost on one side, serama go where they want on the other and then I will be able to put a brooder box and feed and stuff in the other half. its an old rickety shed and one side of the ceiling is taller than the other but it works, has electric, which I have to fix...chopped the wire in half when cutting the pop door lol, oops... but it has two windows and plug ins and stuff, room for quite a few. I am happy.
