She got back to me. Said that she has welsummers in with her Light Sussex flock... Good thing I didnt order these wanting breeders...

The bantam eggs will be Silky, lakenvelder, and OEGB... The CM crosses are mixed with RIR bantam and red jungle fowl...

I still have NO clue as to the Dino eggo' doom... Geuss I will see when it hatches, and grows up a bit.

Next you want meat birds, give me a call...I will have Dark Cornish Cocks over Buckeye hens shortly............

Thanks for reminding me how grateful I am that my daughter has graduated from UM and we no longer have to cross the Cascades and two Rocky Mountain passes to bring her home from Missoula.

Now if we'd only been able to convince her it was a bad idea to go there to begin with.​

So I am making breakfast CHERYL, here is some of my Cuckoo Hens eggs..laid yesterday by 4 year old feather shanked & toed hens...

here is some laid a week ago by same hens...

they are creamy dark brown, like a dark latte,,and huge! (see ruler)

Here is the eggs sent by Bantam:

with the egg on the right , on the lid, is one of my Cuckoo eggs.

You can see my disapointment...tiny & so light..my Java eggs, the Cochin eggs are darker!!!!!!!!!

But at that point I could toss them or hatch them, can't send them back.
They were awful.
Never again.

Michael's RSL roo is crowing just the other side of my fence; I asked about how tall my fence needs to be to keep him out if he decides Ian is a problem, but no answers in Coops&Runs. He's never been a problem to me, but then I've been giving him treats every time I run into him in the orchard; apparently he's drawn blood with every human up there and only got over himself a little when the Blue Duckwing OEGB (who is not an above-average size for his breed, to say the least!) beat the tar out of him.

Also: boy is that OEGB gorgeous, and his hen a real looker, too. Can't wait to see what comes out of their incubator next.

The wine shop, Vino Aquino, is located on 6th Avenue which runs straight through Tacoma and is just 3 minutes off of freeway exit. We could bring a little something to share if we wanted or not, and I just happen to know where the open wine is kept if we wanted to do a little sampling. We also have a coffee pot if we just wanted to stick to coffee or tea. We typically have Private Wine Tasting Parties reserved on Fridays and Saturday nights. Wine Club meetings or "Shiners" meetings are held once a month so we'd just have to plan ahead to make sure we didn't coincide with their meeting night.

Any and all would be welcome - just a nice place to meet when we wanted. We can comfortably hold 25 people. We have 2 table and chairs sets. Folks can mill around, whatever is comfortable.
And no charge. Does this sound do-able? Anyone interested?

Okay, I'm panicking a little. I've had the Brinsea Octagon 20 running for 24 hours. It's been holding a steady 100 degrees all this time. The booklet says to incubate the eggs at 99.3 - 99.6, but I'm reading the temp off of the little glass liquid thermometer attached to the top of the bator. Does it read cooler down where the egg rack is? Does the temp drop when I add the eggs? Should I go ahead and set them or keep fiddling with the temp to try and get it to read a half degree cooler? I need to get these eggs set today, but I don't want to hurt them! I was researching in the forum, but can't find my specific question addressed without reading through days of questions and I'm a little pressed for time here. Thoughts? I kind of need someone to just give me the go-ahead.
