FYI: Back on the rain scald subject:::
My vets office called today to ask for one of my paintings donated for their upcoming auction for PAWS,, and while on the line I asked about: Do dogs get rain scald ?
Absolutely, she said, and I asked what they treat with..and she said, a bath & dry out, or if really bad, an antibiotics as it is bacterial, not fungal.
So, Jack goes in for his once a month "spa" day next week, and as he is a puppy nut case and will not stay out of the rain, if he gets any or has any rain scald, we go to plan A, which is the solution of bleach water, sprayed/misted, and have to keep him dry.
The idiot rips off rain coats

(he is a male, even with no cajones) so..cannot expect him to have a coat on....

CR: Funny story:::
Dh went to the address to pick up the stair lift you sent the listing for, here in Raymond, and the people had chickens, and he told them about ours, and got to talking & apparently THEY just bought chicks from CCG, the day she drove out here to get the Delawares from me, remember ???????
Small world...small.
OK, later, it is way past Chinese food time, and I am starving....DH is out "running" the dog in their nightly red laser light tag game...they are both nuts...
Anyone for Lemon Blue Cochins LF ???

Congrates to T-Hi as a new mother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some dogs develop a taste for mice; one of my sister's German Shorthaired Pointers spent hours every day hunting in the hay barn and catching mice.

I have seen CR's Aussie dig for mice...that dog is both beautiful & awesome, smart as a whip.

You could've at least thanked me for such a clean set-up. I'll be Lewis to your Martin!

The good Lord help us all....we now have 2 "fat kids"...one who is unofficially named and one officially named.

I am thinking they are both going to set us up for multiple laughs.

Every time I read about poop boards I think of The Egg and I (the book, not the movie: the book is 900X funnier, although very much of its time in its attitudes to race and class) and Betty MacDonald describing her heavily pregnant self scraping dropping boards for the brooder house.

I'm running terribly late today, not because I watched the royal wedding (I don't much like real in person weddings where I know the people) but because I was contemplating the wisdom of taking a Vicodin last night and forgot to take my handful of "WARNING: May cause drowsiness" medications in the process, until about 1:30. Bad me! Bad, bad, very sleepy me.

Luckily nobody will be home until after eight tonight, and it will be dark then, so I'll get stuff done in the afternoon. I hope. If it doesn't rain.

I have read that book probably 100 times. I love it and have some old copies of it. How funny.

Congrats on the babies!!!! So cute!

Thanks and thanks to everyone else who replied.

I know I have not been on here much but I'm trying to get the yard cleaned up and ready for a new shed to be built. This requires a lot of attention to detail and planning! Materials list is the hardest part since I want to only pay for one delivery from the lumber place.
I'll be building a retaining wall and a shed that is 8x16 (12 x 16 if you count the 4' front porch) for storage, then a 8x8 "green house" that will be used for the quails (shed with clear green house panels for walls so light is allowed in). So a total area of 12 x 24! Its a lot to do when its not raining! I'm also trying to get my garden beds finished and general clean up of yard so life is hopping!

*anyone know of any free concrete block please think of me! I need as many as I can get.

My Maran roosters went out today so now I only have my one mix rooster "Roadkill" and some chicks to sell but I have a bunch of eggs that came in today!

I too would like to APOLOGIZE TO KIM for my comments about her Birthday and joking about age. I knew she was much younger than the age I (jokingly) wished her a happy B Day for.
I am truly sorry if I have hurt any feelings. As Ron pointed out and for any of you who know me know I do my share of teasing on here. I guess I may do a little too much and some times what I may think to be funny may be taken serious by others.
But I also think that those of you who know me also know that I RARELY intentionally say anything to hurt some one.

Kim Happy Birthday and I hope the rest of this special day is very nice for you.

Rob

Oh, my. I figured you and RonB were teasing...I also hope that no one was offended. I hope you 2 did not get in trouble. You two just meant fun.

Pick a cut off date. The sixth works as well as any, and tell him he is on his own as of that date.

I agree.

Okay--so here is my update...

My MIL calls me at work first thing this morning. Tells me she's sorry but she told the doctors she works with (different clinic) what was going on. She suggested I have my clinic fax over the ultrasound stuff and my history to this other doctor (Dr. B) who has 35+ years in OBGYN and who does u/s himself.

So I called up my clinic and they faxed over the stuff to (Dr. B). About an hour later, (Dr. B's) nurse calls me and tells me to come in on my lunch hour.

So I call up DH and he gets his principal to cover for him. We rush over to the clinic and (Dr. B) sits down with his and looks at all of my history and answers every question we had.

He then says he wants to see this baby's head & heart for himself. So we go right into the u/s room.

He does the u/s and the ENTIRE time he's reading off what he's seeing, what it means, each measurement, etc. He did not at all seem concerned with what he was seeing. He said the "normal" head measurement they were focusing on was 1 cm or less. Hers was right at 1cm. So the top of the "normal" range. The EIF on the heart was still there (just the left side) and just as it was yesterday.

He checked the ENTIRE baby, top to bottom. Measured everything. Told us everything as he was doing it. VERY slowly measured everything. Told us the normal/acceptable range and what he was seeing.

When HE measured her head, he did not see what the u/s tech yesterday was concerned about. His exact words were, "Let's see if I can manipulate this to get a reading like he was getting." He did after a while.

Overall, he said that chances are the baby is fine. He said 95-97% chance that this baby is just fine. HOWEVER, he said that the 3-5% chance it's not and due to mal-practice lawsuits, etc he is REQUIRED to release any findings that are not "normal."

He asked about one of my blood tests, which was done the same day I got confirmation that I was pregnant--which at that time was normal. He was concerned that it hadn't been done since so he ordered another one. Which I did right after the u/s today.

He told me he would call up Spokane and get me in ASAP. And if the perinatologist over there is still concerned after the 3D u/s that he would refer me for amino.

However, DH is strictly against it. He says we're keeping the baby no matter what--so why risk a m/c if the baby might be sick or (more than likely) isn't? However, I'm the other way and would like the amino no matter what because then I can either be relived & happy and start to enjoy things or deal with whatever I need to and get prepared.

So then a few hours after we left the clinic, Dr B's nurse calls me and says she got me an appointment on Monday in Spokane for a Level 2 (3d) u/s with a perinatologist!

Needless to say DH & I feel MUCH better and YES we ARE switching doctors!!

Okay, Okay......I am being a little sensetive! I cry at the drop of a hat lately and obviously can't tell when someone is giving me a hard time. With everything going on around my house it's an emotional rollercoaster everyday.I think I am just spent. And no Iam not PMSing or PG. I am sorry, I worried that Ron was upset with me, he didn't put in his usual smilies that tell me he is kidding, so I got worried. And Rob, I don't take my age seriously, you are only as old as you feel or behave! I just wanted to say Applesauce.

Oh, honey.......
